Preparing for surgery?

My surgery has been moved up to this coming Tuesday. What are the best things to have stocked in your refrigerator/pantry for the next following week after surgery for clear liquid diets? I'M SO EXCITED!

By the way, did everyone banded have a clear liquid diet post-op?

My post op included protein shakes after the first 24 hours. Have popsicles on hand.

I'm also scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th. Just went and bought a bunch of popsicles, cream of's soups, puddings, jello's, protein shakes & crystal light. Not sure what all I can have, but I'm ready and excited too :)

Just had surgery yesterday be sure and have a heating pad and malox mylanta or gas x strips. Good luck very excited for you!

I had clear liquid for a few days. Jello, broth, popsicles, decaf tea and DO NOT forget Chapstick to take to the surgery center. You wake up with terribly dry lips.

Best Wishes!

Thanks for all the advice. I'm glad I asked :)

Oh I almost forgot you will want to take a pillow for the car ride home to hold your stomach over bumps and turns.

Oops. Sorry for above typo. You prob won't be hungry.. My doc said no Popsicles though for first few days so swelling goes down an the cold wont irritate it and cause to constrict...

It's funny how different doc's are. Less than 15 minutes post surgery they had my eating ice chips and SF Popsicles Lol

I was only on liquids for 24 hours. I was allowed to start purée the next day, but I didn't feel like eating and didn't. So I was basically on liquids for 72 hours. I don't have much to add, everyone here has covered it. Good luck!!!
