I had my surgery yesterday and since the first moment my stomach muscles feel like they've been cut up and sewn back together. It's not the incisions on the skin level. It's a deep pain that really hurts when I use my ab muscles to get up, etc. I know there was a lot of internal work done, but I haven't read anything on these forums yet about this type of pain. Thanks!

well, yeah...your insides were cut, moved around, something placed around your tummy and then something sewn into your tummy....so yep, its gonna hurt..deep inside....and it will for a few days until it starts healing, swelling going down etc..my stomach, when i stood up or whatever def felt like it was coming apart (but it wont).....and i was sore in mid section for about a month..i think its normal...stay ahead of the pain with meds if you need to..congrats on your surgery...well done

and the air they put in there adds to the pressure so this all would be normal use your heating pad, med meds can cause Constipation and this could add to the pressure use some stool softners and keep drinking this ill get everything moving, waking up and pass the gass all will help.

Really this was what I experienced as well, my husband would help me up so I wouldn't have to use my stomach muscles so much and I avoided laying down much so it wouldn't hurt so bad. I propped pillows and sat up in bed to sleep and I've heard of a few people sleeping in a recliner. I started to feel a difference by about day 4 and "slowly" it improved for about 2 weeks after that. Everyone is different and I hope you heal faster than I did, it's been 4 1/2 weeks and so far it has been so worth it, Good Luck you'll do great :)

My surgery was yesterday as well. My stomach hurts too! Mainly by my port area. It isn't unbearable, but definitely not comfortable, it hurts most when I'm getting up or sitting down. I have been taking my pain medicine every 4-6 hours which helps but I'm still sore (to be expected). My pain feels deeper too, not just skin deep. My gas pain hasn't been too bad. Walking and gas x strips seem to be helping. Hope you start feeling better!! :)

Thanks everyone. It makes me feel better to know other people have felt the same way. I guess it's like childbirth...you forget the pain after awhile! Sorry creekwood, I know you can't relate. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
