Recommended Posts

I have had trouble the last week with limiting the naughty food.. Ive thrown it out and it has worked but i celebrated easter this weekend and i consumed quite a bit of chocolate.. Now i find myself looking for some.. Its very hard.. Ive decided to walk it off everytime i get a craving.. Its bloody hard.. Any other suggestions?

I am a huge chocolate fan but I notice that if I eat some then I crave more. So if I REALLY can't take the cravings anymore I have a little but I KNOW I'm going to have to wean myself off that stuff like the addict I am in the weeks to come!

You say that like it's so EASY. :P

It's easier to not buy it than it is to avoid it once it's in your pantry or candy dish. Spoken from experience :(

I do allow myself 2 hershey dark choc bliss cubes every night. It satisfies my chocolate craving, and some idiot nutritionist said it's good for me? Go figger

Pfft I have a 7yo. Easter meant chocolate eggs. EVERYWHERE!

But no we don't usually have it in the house. My partner says I get 'cat's bum face' when he tries to sneak it into our shopping trolley. chocolate is a 'once in a while' food, not just for lapbanders, but everyone, and let's face it, it's addictive as crack!

Artic Zero ice cream!! It is really frozen Protein Shake but it is 150 calories for the entire pint. Yes, for the entire pint...and it's good for you. I don't eat the entire pint but it helps me with my love of ice cream.

OH WOW!! This is TOTALLY my downfall too!! and the fact that it goes down so easy doesn't help things.. I've not bought any - but when I get a craving - I do sneak into my co-worker's candy dish... (she ALWAYS has those mini chocolate bars) and allow myself only 2.. but its a high price to pay... mini or not.. 100 calories.. EEKS!! Definitely something I gotta keep away from too!! darn if it tastes soooo good!! BLAH!! Stay strong!!

I found some relief by using sugar free Jello choc instant pudding. The cooked is ok too, but who wants to wait?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
