Drank to much and vomited

Recommended Posts

Ok... I know I did wrong, but I need advice.

I went out on Saturday and drink way to much, well you guessed it. I vomited for two hours.

So now I'm stuck with massive chest pain, and I even have shortness of breathe.

Does everyone think the bad slipped, or just inflamed?

I called the doctor, and they want me to come in for more unfil, and possibly X-rays.

Great!!!

The reason I think I have a slip is that I can feel pressure lower then where I normally feel the band.

Grrr. Crap!!!

Seems like my tolerance for alchohol has diminished since being banded. I had a couple of glasses of wine a few weeks ago and did not eat much. That old feeling of the room spinning and saliva buildup in my mouth came back. I was lucky, no barfing. Hope you're alright and learn your lesson. I think I've learned mine. But, you know, this alcohol thing can rear it's ugly head out of nowhere so being a person in a glass house, I won't throw stones your way ;)

just wait and see what the doctor says/advises before you start imaging slips or damage or anything else....until the dr xrays you, all else here is just guessing and that is not doing you any good...like mis said, def get to that dr appt as soon as you can to rest your mind.

I went through a bout of Severe food poisoning, I can relate  It's NOT fun but try to relax. your probably feeling more of a pouch enlargement

Symptoms of pouch enlargement include lack of satiety, heartburn, regurgitation and occasional chest pain. The diagnosis is made with an upper gastrointestinal series. See your doctor and them do the Upper GI with contrast to check. IT will show band position (I believe) better than doing Endoscopy like some M.D.'s suggest

Good Luck and keep us posted ~

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
