Post band placement Kitchen must haves

Recommended Posts

I am planning on having my band placed in the next month or two. This month I'm moving out of my house and into my sister's house for approx 6 months while I build a new house. I'm packing up my kitchen right now and realized I should probably ask y'all what kitchen must haves should I make sure to bring to my sister's house. I'm not talking food, but rather appliances. I already put my mini food processor in a box to bring to my sister's house along with a little microwave egg thing to make egg whites. What appliances/kitchen helps could you not live without post band placement??

Items to measure and weigh. Currently using a digital scale, at least two sets of measuring cups, and a set of measuring spoons. Right after surgery my handheld blender for shakes and Soups was very important.

My Kitchen must haves:

food Processor

Paring Knife

Chef's Knife

Microplane (zest adds flavor to EVERYTHING)

Wood Cutting Board (solid piece if possible)

6 inch Cast Iron Skillet (propperly seasoned)

2 Regular 8 inch Fry Pans

1 qt sauce pan

This because it's amazing: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/oxo-adjustable-measuring-cup/?pkey=ccooks-tools-new&

Wooden or metal skewers for roasting.

But hey, that's just me.

I use Ice Tea spoons and shrimp forks. They are little but have long handles. It makes taking smaller bites easier. Also, during my pre op liquids I was putting everything in the blender.

I don't use anything special , just normal kitchen equipment.

Small storage containers...you'll have lots of leftovers. (Or, just be ok with tossing stuff.) Blender, immersion blender, masher thing.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
