I go for my first fill in May 1st, I'm kind of nervous. I don't really have a lot of restriction, i basically restrict myself by eating very small portions like they say to do. Trying to train myself, is it normal to not have any restriction 3 weeks post op?

I just had my first fill on Thursday, and that was a little over 4 weeks post-op. Initially, I had some restriction, but apparently the swelling from surgery went down, and I was getting hungry 2-2.5 hours after eating. I think that's probably what's going on with you. I'm much better after the fill, and I'm back to being satiated for up to 4 hours.

Don't be nervous; it's really no big deal. Just a little pinch. Believe me when I tell you, you went through a LOT more with the surgery :P

Thank you for that, when i get hungry i try to just have a shake so i don't eat to much and that seems to help. I'm losing so that's a plus but can't wait until my hunger is satisfied for a longer period :)

On my post-op visit April 11, I decided to put off the first fill until my next visit in May. So far I've lost 31 lbs. without a fill, and no pre-surgery diet. My surgery was February 25, 2013. I feel great and not having trouble with food, I can tell when I've had enough, but I do get hungry late in the afternoon. I feel like I'm ready for that first fill. I'm also ready to buy some new clothes. Everything has gotten too baggy.

Remember to base the need for a fill on how you are doing eating dense Protein, not shakes, yogurt and bars. It will make a big difference on how well you tolerate real food!

I eat chicken, fish fruit and veggies but instead of snacking i have a Protein Shake or some natural raw almonds to help satisfy my hunger in between meals. I have had no problems eating or drinking which is fantastic, no stuck episodes or vomiting.

I did the same thing. I drank 1/2 of a Protein shake between Breakfast and lunch, and the other half between lunch and dinner. It was tough, but it got me through.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
