Confused/advice please

Recommended Posts

I had my Dr Apt April 15 and was 198.7. I was so excited I finally made it to under 200. I haven't been under 200 for over 15 years. Well I weighed yesterday and had gained 2.5 lbs and weighed in today and gained another .5. I am so confused. I am doing everything the same. It's not that time of the month as I had a hysterectomy several years ago. Any advice please? I was wondering if I should do Protein Drinks again. Very upsetting as I was so excited last week. I am doing this on my phone so not sure if my profile will show up as I am getting ready for work. Thanks in advance.

Did you have foods with a lot of sodium? Our weight can flucuate greatly day to day. I suggest you stay off the scale on a daily bases.

Don't worry, if you're doing everything right, it will all work out.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far.

ps. drink more Water. When we have Fluid retention the extra water causes our bodies to not hold on to the extra.

as dawg said, the TOM, sodium or heavy diamond earrings can make the scale go up...def nothing to worry about unless you are eating alot of junk/fast foods or eating more then 3500 cals all the time (3500 cal is a pound whether its ate or drank)..and taking in more cals than you burn off.--that makes you gain.

....as for going back on Protein shakes, i drink one every morning as i am too tight to eat but just being on liquids helps you lose liquids .....best to eat good foods in your small amounts allotted, drink alot and stay positive..

are you losing inches? if so, then you are losing weight.....and FAB that you are under 200...i am aiming for that myself sweetie

Getting under the 200 pound mark is a huge goal for me. I am almost there (I can taste it)! So congrats on that amazing milestone. For me, if I have Soup for dinner (lots of sodium)...the scale goes crazy. Sometimes up 3 pounds. The next day I just try and get more Water in and after a few days...the scale thanks me. Do not worry.....take a deep breath and continue doing your band friendly things!

Don't get too discouraged. I went through this too. I finally weighed in at 199 and was so so excited but not so fast! For the next 2 1/2 weeks I jumped between 200 and 202 and that 199 evaded me. I was so upset that I went to the movies and ate as much popcorn with lots of butter as I could. I figured this was going to make me feel better since I wasn't losing anyway. Well it tasted so so good but I ended up getting stuck cause ate way too much then was mad at myself. I went immediately back to band eating and stayed off the scale for several days. I knew the pounds had to come off eventually because I was doing all the right things. When I finally got back on the scale it read a cool 195! So don't give up hope. I read somewhere that fat turns to liquid so it can be expelled and the liquid can be retained in your body for a while. I can usually tell when I am up all night in the bathroom that the pounds are coming off. Other nights not so much. I wish you all the best!

Mine does the same thing. I have no answers only to say keep riding the roller coaster. Once I got below that 200 mark- I bounced all around in the 190's from the end of Dec until last week. The end of last week finally saw 189, now it back up to 190- who knows why.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
