Are you drinking plenty of Water?

Get some Protein mix with whey isolates and you should be getting down 60-80 grams per day. I concur about Water too--check your hydration a couple ways:

1. What is color of urine?

2. Do skin test, grab one wrist (normal grip). How long until color returns to your wrist?

Day 3? Probably still just the anesthetic working it's way through your system. Everybody is different. During my stay at the hospital I slept for the better part of 3 days.

I was told clear liquids only. Isn't whey mix for shakes? My mom is going to GNC to pick me up some clear liquid Protein in a few

Sorry, that's right--not all doctors are the same. Mine had me on full liquids by day 2. Otherwise, drink Isopure which is clear (apple melon is best).

I just called my doctor and he said to switch from sugar free drinks and ice pops to ones with sugar so I can get some calories in me. Hopefully that helps. I wish I could just make a Protein Shake and not feel dizzy

On my post-op diet sheet it lists tea so it might be ok. I'll call to make sure and congrats! I had surgery today also :) *4/24/13*

Congratulations to you too! How are you feeling? My left shoulder and abdomen are very sore. It's hard to lie down. I was sitting on my vouch for an hour and now I'm walking around my house, swinging my arms.

The left side of my stomach is sore also. I've been walking around the house a little bit also. It's hard for me to pay down too so I been sitting up in the bed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
