Ok good to know i don't have any of that so that is a good sign :). I just had surgery on april 5th and i keep reading all kinds of horror stories so it made me nervous. I go for my first fill May 1st and am a little nervous because i hear some people have a tilted port or it is backwards, one the dr couldn't get the needle in. Kinda scary, how long have you been bandef and have you had any issues

If you Google Lap band complications that will give you an idea of the symptoms associated with the band. use as a "just in case"

That being said Congratulations!! and read the posts on here with caution, it's anecdotal. your so early in your journey and you'll drive your self MAD worrying about the "what if's

GOOD LUCK~~~~~ I've been banded since 4-09

From what I've read...there are some pretty significant signs that something is wrong or you might have a band slip. After I was banded I too had a lot of anxiety, there is something new in your body and you have no idea what's going on in there. Try and relax, I'm sure your fist fill will go great.

Mine slipped, when I don't know. Only found it because I switched doctors and since all my fills had been blind, he did a barium swallow. Then a week later followed with an endoscopy to see if it had eroded, which it hadn't. I have no symptoms of slippage and in fact have lost an additional 3 pounds since I seen him March 26th. But he says it has to come out. I'm just waiting on the approval from the insurance company and surgery date.

That is the problem, I never had any symptoms of anything after the surgery in 2010. I have no pain, no nothing and still don't. My new doctor does fills under fluoroscope and that was when it was discovered and then confirmed by an endoscopy a week later. It was a quirk, karma, something and help from another doctor that I got in with the new doctor. My former clinic does blind fills and never checked the band except for the day of surgery. Rather scary when there are no signs or symptoms even now. As the band could have eroded and infection set in and only then I would have figured something was wrong, but not necessarily it being the band's fault. I think the moral of this story, is make sure the band is checked regularly if you have blind fills.

Neither have I, nor have I heard anyone not having some problem with the band at some point. I never had a stuck episode, no vomiting, etc, etc I have just led my life as normal, went for fills and jokingly always said if it wasn't for the fact I can feel the port, I think I didn't have a band. So I am very angry that this has happened because I love my band and really not looking forward to two more surgeries.

My band had slipped as well and i had no symptoms at all as well! I got rebanded march 1st cause my other band had a leak in it so when my Dr. Did my surgery he said the leak was around the ballon of the band and also that my band had slipped a little. I wouldve never known!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
