Hello everyone! I'm scheduled for this Friday(April 19)... I'm nervous, but excited. My doctor did not put me on a liquid diet, just no sugar and lots of Protein. Has anyone out there had this same type of pre op? Also, I'm looking to lose 45-60lbs. I'm only 5"2 and weigh in at 210 give or take. My BMI is 39.5 and I'm self pay. Is there anyone out there that needs or had the band done with my similarities?...again, I'm nervous, but hope this is one of the best decisions I've ever made for my health....hope to hear from someone soon...Thanks!....Sistercin

I'm also 5'2 I was 230 now I'm 218 and my surgery is Monday. My goal is about 80 lbs. I am on a liquid diet and I'm dying. I have the worst headache and feel weak.

Congratulations on the best decision you'll ever make. I had my surgery 3 years ago in March and have lost 80 lbs. My beginning weight was 265. I feel great, I exercise and "it is" the best decision I've ever made. Good Luck. You're going to do great!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
