Really, you can eat anything you can put through the blender so it's the consistency of baby food.

chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, or ham salad then put through the blender. Lots of Protein and yummy!

Also, blend plain yogurt or cottage cheese into cream Soup.

Or you can blend some cream cheese into chili.

Just think "what would still taste good after being through the blender?" lol!

Best wishes!

I ate lots of chicken, ricotta cheese and Pasta sauce during the purée phase. Also salsa and meatballs. Like Missy said, really anything that you can put in a blender with some liquid to make moist. You might also want tot try making a batch of hearty Soup in a crock pot that you could blend.

Good luck!

Are you doing puree or mushy? Some people have both stages i did not. For mushies I like scrabled eggs whisked with skim milk, Beans, refried beans, tuna, canned chicken any flaky fish, cottage cheese or ff ricotta cheese with marinara sauce. I never use a blender except for shakes. Best of luck for you. If you are interested you can friend me in fb at hely lb and I can add you to our recipe group. Anyone is welcome. Best of luck!!

I posted this on another thread, someone was asking about pureed.....I was just advanced yesterday too!! I bought flavored canned chicken from Walmart, its actually the great value brand, it comes in lemon pepper, tom and herb and apple wood smoked, I'm gonna try to puree that, my nutritionist suggested 2oz of ricotta cheese (low fat) with either some tom sauce or you can add cinnamon and sweetener..Greek yogurt, last night i came up with the idea of egg whites with pureed turkey bacon inside, I'm gonna try that out tomorrow, and someone mentioned before buying wendys chili, and pureeing that

I actually eat it heated up and cold...just tonight i mixed some canned chicken with the cold ricotta...otherwise, I'll heat it up when mixed with sauce, and when i mix it with cinnamon and Splenda, i eat it either hot or cold...but warming it up does taste better in my opinion...but i think I'm gonna try mixing some Choc Protein Powder in with it next, or some PB2

If you area using Jello brand brand mix a whole box has 1200 sodium. That is very close to what you should have in entire day. Also the ricotta has additional sodium. Just FYI.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
