Surgery at 0730 in the morning. I'm not sure why I'm having crying episodes. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not me. I was happy to be having the surgery. :) If you need it, you should be too.

HAPPY EASTER!

Have you had surgery before? Are you scared? We all go through this, maybe not necessarily crying (but we all react differently to things), but freaking out a bit because it still is major surgery. I doubted myself, wandered WTH was I doing, why in the world did I have to resort to this, and a bunch of other "fun" feelings and did this again even after surgery, but I know that I was going nowhere, I'm in my 30's and have more life to live, and am happy that I did this. Oh and wait until you wake up from anesthesia, within a matter of minutes I was mad, then wanted to cry, went back to mad and had no clue what was wrong with me, come to find out anesthesia can make you feel like that, once it wore off, I was all good :).

I know exactly what you are feeling. I don't know what I was feeling but was very emotional about a week before surgery. I still have moments of being emotional even now, 8 weeks out but I think it may be because my weight has been a huge burden to my self esteem and confidence. I know good things will come if I just stick to the program. I am not losing as quickly as I had hoped but still on target. It rounds out to 1-2 pounds a week. I was happy...just emotional. lol

I have had surgery before, And yes I'm scared.... I'm grateful to have been approved for surgery it's definitely something I need. Just worried about all the complications that I have read about. Thanks 2012 for your reply I feel alittle better knowing that I'm not the only one beating there self up.... Looking forward to being thinner.

Emotional is not unusual. Hang in there, you will soon be on the road to recovery!

Just remember that misery loves company and that people will always post the negative and not necessarily the positive, so don't overwhelm yourself with the negatives/complications. I'm not bragging, but saying this out of support, but I have had zero complications and I am 8 months in and 92 lbs down and had both a hiatal hernia fixed and lap band done on the same day. Follow the rules and chew, chew, chew. Yes there is a learning curve, but you will get through this. Good luck tomorrow!

not to worry...this happened to me as well. I was very emotional...worried about complications, worried that I would have success and not have regrets, all of it. I'm three months out now and everything is fine so far. no complications, no big problems, and down 43 lbs. so far. be positive and good luck.

Do not worry. This is normal. At least to me. I had a breast reduction 2 years ago. I was crying so hard going into the operating room that I could not even talk. I can get teary knowing I have surgery this Friday. Never that I am having second thoughts, I think I just get over emotional. I was glad to hear that I will be given some "calming" medication to take en route to the clinic on Friday morning. All good, you will be successful if you put your mind to it!

If you're still freaking out in the morning, talk to your pre-op nurse. They deal with freaked out pre-op patients regularly, maybe they can calm your nerves. I know mine did. It was my first abdominal surgery and I really didn't know what to expect, but have faith in your surgeon. They have training and experience.

Focus on the fact that you are choosing life over obesity. Healthy life!

I cried the whole night before and morning of surgery! I was excited- but upset with myself that I had to do it- even though I know it was best choice. Most of my emotion was fear that I wouldnt wake up from surgery and worrying about my kids. Its big stuff! No worries! GOOD LUCK!!!!

I was absolutely FINE until I talked to my surgeon right before surgery! He and I joked, he walked away and I burst into tears. My mom was, like, what is wrong? I had a moment of panic - is it worth it? Did I make the right desicion? Etc. it's been 4 days since my surgery and I feel great but I still have moments of weird emotion - like crying at a sappy commercial, LOL. I think it's perfectly normal. We are having major surgery and facing a new life and lifestyle;it would prob be weird not to be emotional :-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
