It felt a lot better than i expected

Last night I was heading home from volunteering at my sons school/church. My wife and son wanted ice cream from Maggie Moo's (ice cream store where they mix in toppings (TONS) to choose from. I LOVE this place. So I picked them up and took them there.

I knew that I couldn't get ice cream as I was already at 1900 calories for the day (I've been staying under 2k as my own pre-op diet, before my real pre-op diet). So I sat there watching them order their ice cream. (Cotton candy with Oreos mixed in and mint with chocolate chips and waffle cone mixed in). Then they ate their ice cream. My wife suggested that I ask for a sample of an ice cream since I had 100 calories left. That doesn't work for me. If I try a sample the next thing I know I'll have a large chocolate shake and a large cup of Peanut Butter fudge ice cream with Reese's pieces and Kit kats mixed in. So I drank my Water. But it felt good. I was in control not the food!

This story reminded me of when I took my daughter to eat the other day after my preop appt. I love love cheesecake awe it's the best ever !!!! An so I took her to the Cheesecake Factory to eat an they have regular food along with the most amazing cheesecakes in every kind under the moon. After eating out lunch she ordered an Oreo chocolate fudge cheesecake. They brought it out it was big enough for us both so they also brought out 2 forks I sat thru this drooling but OVERCOmE the temptation an I was so excited when we left that I didn't touch the high calorie dessert. Your mind plays alot if tricks an makes us think we really need the food when we can overcome it so I guess what I'm trying to day is your not alone when it comes to family an temptations!! Happy for you

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
