Pulling at port incision

Thank you.. I was really stressing and my emotions were getting the best of me yesterday! So glad I have this site! I actually spend more time here than Facebook!

That's funny...I said the same thing to a friend of mine the other day. I check in on this forum before I go to FB in the a.m.

I hate to be an "old meany". But you all need to get up off the couch and walk around. I am so glad that your husband made you go to Walmart! smart man. You more than likely, are just healing, but your surgeon's office is your best friend at this time. Make sure to follow surgeon's orders. Welcome to all new lapbanders. You will do fine, but don't just lay there, get up and move! Don't push vacuum cleaners, or tr clean your house, but get off the couch and walk around. best wishes, Karen

I agree, Karen, walking helps. The last week I've had different friends come to walk with me at various times throughout the day. My husband and I have walked the dog together - he holds the leash because my 120 lb lab might yank me across the road. Walking really does help. For that insistent pain in the shoulder, however, laying flat for about 20 minutes is the fix. Gravity is not our friend with regard to the shoulder pain!

Wish it was warmer than 52 degrees in 'sunny' Florida!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
