Can't seem to loose anymore weight

Recommended Posts

I am 6 months out since my surgery and had lose about 40lbs. Today I went for a follow up and found that I had gained 3 lbs. it was very disheartening. Just wondering if anyone experienced a gain and how did you get past it weight loss wise and emotionally? It really took the air out of my sail.

There was a week where it seemed like the scale went up several days. I was devastated. I came up with several scenarios from TOM to muscle weighing more than fat. I took a hard look at my diet and exercise routine and I did two Protein Shakes and one full meal for two days in a row and the loss started up again. I am not sure if that was the right thing to do but hey, it worked. I noticed what was different in my diet compared to previous weeks and made a few changes and I changed up my exercise routine just shake things up a bit. Hope this helps.

wow, i feel the exact same way!

Was banded in august and have lost about 50 lbs and recently gained back a few. Today I went for a fill and hope that will help, since I have plateaued for over a month    Anyhow, I definetly think you should try carb cycling to break out of this funk (there is a there is a topic about it here and many people have had big success with it.)

Just keep exercising and following your dietary rules and you'll eventually lose more

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
