Insanity

Recommended Posts

I just saw infomercial about this and I am thinking I am to fat and to weak to do this. I know some of you already do this. Please share your experience with me and how you adapted your level of fitness to the program. Thanks in advance.

Insanity is pretty hardcore.....there is a lot of jumping and side to side moving. My husband does it and sometimes I join in but there's no way I can do anywhere near what he does, so I pick and choose the parts I can do. It's like any other exercise program you get out of it what you put it, he has seen amazing results. There's also an insanity diet out there. Best Wishes :)

I started it last year and had to quit bc it made my knees hurt really bad from impact, plus the weight I was carrying. I actually just tried it Thursday, since I've lost weight and about 50 lbs later, its more manageable. It's still tough. I'm not following the full program everyday but will start to incorporate insanity in my weekly routine.

So I do lots of zumba n it's lots of jumping, running in place, dancing n I tried insanity once n was too intense for me. My son and daughter do it all the time n tell me I should also but I don't think I'm fit enough to hang.

Insanity while is an awesome workout - basically it's like P90x only it's longer anaerobic work with shorter aerobic intermixed, as opposed to the reverse as with P90x - Insanity has even more Plyometrics (jumping) and therefore it isn't really a good place to "start" exercise or if a person has or is susceptible to knee and other lower extremity joint or back issues.

Without knowing more about where you are physically - I can't suggest the best workout for you but I can tell you two things:

1- A workout that's just right for where you are today does exist !

2- That workout will have both cardio and strength aspects and should be done 6 days a week.

Good luck and congrats on embracing the best thing you can do for life and health - EXERCISE!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
