Freaking out and frustrated!!

Recommended Posts

So my ride for my EGD and surgery next week just had to back out. And I'm having issues finding someone else. Ugh!!!! I'm going to be so mad if I have to cancel over something so stupid as this!

No. I have to have a responsible person present. Plus the can would cost a fortune. It's an hour drive each way, longer if there is traffic.

Is there a community agency you can call to help you out. Here in Toronto we have the United Way. They helped me out once when I need to get to a pre-op appointment for surgery and the hospital was outside of Toronto and my sister couldn't take me. There was no cost to me. I did buy the driver a couple of cups of coffee :)

It might be worth a phone call.

Just a thought.

Awww... I wish I were closer and could help. I live in FL and will be traveling to the True Results in TX. I hope you find a solution and I would definitely look into that Tom suggested.

take a friend with you and hop a bus to do this.

if you are a church person, ask someone there.

(there is always a way if you look)

missy was right about the cab part but an hour drive to and fro would cost alot.

Hospitals will no longer let people who have been sedated leave with public transportation. Its a risk for the patient. I would call the united way, red cross and any other agency to see if someone would take you. Im sure there is a way.

I thought I deleted this thread but since it won't delete I thought I'd post again to say...

Yay!!! I got my rides situated and all is well. EGD is still on for Monday and banding/hernia repair on Thursday. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
