Bless each and every one of you.

Your miles away and on the Internet, but your support really does help so much, as do your prayer.

I will keep you all posted and the may 1st scheduling still stands.

I went and got a massage today. I can't afford it, so a friend who is in massage school did it for free because I'm such a wreck.

Hearing stories that all was well, or success stories helps too.

*HUGS***

Update:

Well, I had a special test today at my OB/GYN . I have to have surgery "just in case". :phanvan I have to have a D&C on some spot that showed up and remove what they think is a fibroid tumor out. I can't believe I have to undergo surgery again after just having surgery weeks ago.

My gyno knows I was a wreck, so I think he sugar coated it saying "we want to be sure" because I heard the doctors talking as I got dressed again, and heard them whispering "suspicious spot" that has "venous activity".. I also heard "yea...with that history..." (my mom had uterine cancer)

I've been crying all day. I had this surgery so I could avoid the risks of cancer and other diseases. Maybe I am too late and this is it for me?:think

Sorry to hear about this. Nothing worse than the not knowing for sure. I will keep my fingers crossed for good news and say a little prayer for ya. I wish you well.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this. You are in my prayers, and have been added to the prayer chain I belong to. But "is this it for you?"

NO!!! I am a uterine cancer survivor...3 years out, and doing great. Yes a total hysterectomy was the final result, as well as 6 months of chemo. It was not fun, and was not what I wanted.....but I am alive to tell of it! And it has been an awesome 3 years, with many, many more to come! You too will be strong and handle whatever comes your way....and remember you have a very special guardian angel watching over you...your Mom!

I hope and pray all goes well for you, but never doubt your strength!

Kat

You too Kat??

Can you tell me more about your experience? Did they do the D&C thing first with you? What is the prognosis after a hysterectomy? I'm new to this.

Thank you for the prayers.

My heart is breaking for you and I share your tears. I know nothing I can say can stop the tears, but take comfort in knowing that you are lifted up in prayer. :pray2: It's easy to say be strong, but doing it is another thing. I know you can find the strength in the Lord....let Him carry you. You can do this.....you WILL bounce back!! I know you will.

I've seen your fiery side in some of your posts. (I hope this crazy jumping thing brought a smile) You are a strong woman!! I will pray for you to find peace and calm through all of this. I just know everything will be fine. You know you can always come here for love and support!! Please keep in touch and let us know how your doing.....everyday.....post and talk to us. We want to hear from you!!

Thank you so much. You've brought me to tears. Knowing I'm being prayed for and that you think I'm going to be okay really REALLY helps.

It's funny how in times like this what helps give you strength is the support of others.

I wanted to have a child too. I don't have any. We were trying to get me at a healthier place with the lap band etc first. :-(

oh Hon, I can't give you any exact statistics, I have always tried to avoid them to be truthful with you. I thought my own positive thinking was far better for me. I pre-treated my surgery with a drug called Megace, for 6 months. Had the surgery, it was a long involved surgery, I had endometriosis, and had endometrial tissue all over the place, they scraped and cleaned for hours. My 2-3 hour surgery lasted for over 7 hours. I had follow up chemo for 6 months, and they used a cocktail of several infused drugs. I did lose my hair. It has since grown back, and is curly...I do not know how to "do" curly hair! My Dr. told me he has no doubt he will be treating me, as a patient for the next 30 years. I had a mammogram come back abnormal last year, I had the advanced mammo done at the hospital, and got an ok report. I still worried all year, but had mine done this year just prior to going to MX for my banding, and it come back clear the first time!!! YEA!!!! I know a friend who had stage 1 uterine cancer they told her, they simply did a hysterectomy, with no other intervention, and she is good. So they have a multitude of options in dealing with this, and don't give up hope that it is simply a fluke. Are you comfortable with your Dr.? I could call and talk to my Dr. at ANY time, he would always call back as soon as he was between patients. And I felt I could say or ask him anything. My husband and I were worried about having sex while I was pretreating, and I just ask him.....you need a close relationship with your Dr. If you don't have it with this one, look elsewhere. You can even call your local oncology office (don't panic at the thought) for recommendations, they know what you are going through. And if you need someone to talk to about it, besides me and the rest of us here, you can call American Cancer society....whether it is or not, and anyone there will understand the panic and fear you are experiencing. They will have someone call you back and be a support for you. I did it. I have a loving family, but it was very hard, because they were as afraind for me as I was for myself, and I felt like them seeing my fear, only scared them more...so a stranger worked for me. She is now a close friend, and hard for me to believe she was ever anything else!

Calm down, pamper yourself, let your loved ones help you through this, and do not bottle everything up. We are all here with you, waiting and worrying right beside you. Big big hug:girl_hug: .....it will be ok. If you need to come here and type out all your fears, and frustrations in the inevitable delays...do it, we all have very broad shoulders, and can take it!

Kat

Hang in there!! I think sometimes the Lord wants us to lean on others for support. We will be strong for you!! Also, don't count a child out. A D&C may even help in that matter. Don't give up!! I wish I could take all your pain away. :cry Just believe you are going in the right direction to get healthy and you have a bright future ahead.

Thank you Kat, threeloves and Kim! I will defo keep you all informed, but more importantly, need your support!

And prayer is so powerful, so keep it coming. My mom once has cancerous tumor in her bladder. We prayed and prayed and when they took it out, they found it was benign. She was positive the prayer made a miracle.

Kat, your so right about keeping a positive attitude. That will be a challenge for me as I have issues with that. I guess that therein is the lesson, huh?

Hi Bubba. I had that done too, back in my twenties. Doc called it cervical dysplasia and siad it was pre-cancerous cells. I also had my cervix frozen and never a problem since. The doctor at that time also spoke in a less "worrisome way" then I heard them talking yesterday.

This seems more "real" if you know what I mean.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
