I am ashamed...

Recommended Posts

The thing I feel most ashamed for is for not being the best possible me for my husband and my children...time after time we didn't do fun things because of me not wanting to embarrass them.....but we have to let go of those feelings and embrace the new us and the new opportunities that are out there....Best Wishes to you and your Father :)

My prayers go out to your father, mother, yourself, and your family. I hope he has a speedy recovery!

Thanks lg. He is so weak he can't even raise up in bed. But he will survive it.

I have many times. I think we all ask our selves. How did I let my self get this big? But now I'm doing something about it, I just hope I don't go from ashemd to depressed. I'm really worried about loose skin, im used to this body since I can remember, but I want a healthier life style.

I don't. Why? Because we're all ready to do this when the time is right for us. Society' date=' culture all around us tells us that we can do this on our own and we're just lazy. Just read Cassandra James article below?

The point is, you're doing something about it now. I see obese people everywhere. I can see that most of them aren't trying and I want to shake them into knowing what I know now. But we can't do that. No, never. But then you see the guy or gal in the gym or on the walking/biking path and they're making an effort to get in shape. I love to see that. I respect and admire those people just like I'm proud of myself for doing this.

You have people around you who admire what you've done. Soak it in. Embrace it and love the new you.

Sorry to be so sappy but I was overwhelmed for a minute there <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

She's a completely ignorant moron that needs to be b*tch slapped. Hard.

Well, I wish I didn't read her article before getting ready for bed! Now I'm really irritated and worked up! Why did I come on here one last time before bed? Lol

I'm not sure if I read one correct thing in that article! Don't panic about your surgery. The band is awesome if you use it properly! The crap about constantly vomitting and not being able to eat certain foods is ridiculous! You can control that! If you like your band on the tighter side, there probably will be foods you can't eat, however, a lot of us keep it at a level that is keeping us satisfied longer on less food rather than no allowing us to eat certain foods! Don't let the haters scare you!

Thanks! I couldn't fall asleep last night, started reading up more on the LB. Everything has a risk, the whole fact that I'm over weight is a huge risk, so im sticking with my decision. And I'm so thankful for this site, and good peeps like you, to help with this journey. Thanks again. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
