Hi. Sugery date is March 14th. I'm on day three of my three week liquid diet. It's not so bad until I have to fix my kids dinner. Then all of a sudden I want ALL THE food. I know I can do this...sometimes one moment at a time, but I can do it,I will do it. I got pretty weepy yesterday and it is apparent that my emotional reserves are pretty low. The analogy I used with a friend is that food was the cork. There is no food in me...so the cork is gone and all the feelings are falling out! I wish I could go on a sabbatical, a quiet place with no responsibilties so I can just take care of myself and get through this.

Peace, Love and Hunger Pains,

KPA

You can do it! Make sure to have something to drink while you are makingf dinner. Maybe, you can get soemone to help you with their dinner for awhile. best wishes.Karen

I am on day 3 as well. Stocked up on lots of easy to make stuff so hubby can cook for himself & my son. Frozen pizza, hot dogs, etc

Hang in there. Do you have to do 3 weeks of pre op?

Kll724: That's an excellent idea about drinking while I make their dinner. I'll try that tonight. Snap: Yes, I have three weeks of pre op, lucky me!

Try sucking on an Altoid mint while you are doing i as well. I used to keep a tin of them on my kitchen window sill.

You will do it. Emotions run high when we are no longer connected to our comfort which is/was food. A year from now when you have a new relationship with food you will then be able to laugh at how you beat obesity. Wishing you well on your journey.

Lionbird, I feel your pain. I did buy frozen easy to make things, I to am on day 3 and last night I made frozen chicken nuggets and tater tots. I never in my life wanted tator tots so badly! Terry, I love the mint idea. That would probably help as I am salivating over the food. Thanks.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
