Just had a hard day

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just had a hard day so I thought I would vent a little here. Today was my first day on the liquid diet. I made it through ok. I can really see the difference in head hunger and real hunger just from 1 day. I didn't cheat once I am going to try to do this faithfully. However it was a difficult day. I teach more hours today then I do on any other day, plus I had to go in early for a meeting, and on top of that I am trying to prepare all my stuff for next week when I am going to be out. (lesson plans for the subs and all that) And on top of that I had an observation today! :) They forgot to tell me until today, so then I had to redo my entire lesson so I could make a more interesting one for the observation. I came home beat and a little shaky and tired. And then I still had to cook dinner for hubby and heat up Soup for myself. :faint:

Whew! But I made it and its 11:00pm so I'm off to bed soon...have a great night every one. :notagree

It will get easier K@T. I was 99% faithful on mine (the very odd slip...and even then the slip only consised of like 2 noodles one time etc). I had to do it for two weeks....the first few days were the hardest (headahces, cravings etc)...but it was the carb. withdrawal. Stick with it! You'll do okay. What got me through was "baby steps"....one small step at a time. I couldn't look at the whole day let alone the whole week (or 2)...it was too daunting...so just have short "lookaheads"!

Good luck!

You're doing great, this is the hardest part I think. Stay focused, we can do anything for a short time. After your blood sugar levels out it gets much easier, for some that is 2-3 days, for other like me a whole week, but it does finally even out and the headaches go away and you even stop feeling hunger.

Clinically it takes 72 hours for the body to chemically change a habit. So it being easier after 3 days is true. I know when I have done cleansing fasts in the past it was really tough for the first few days. But after a week of low carbing it it is amazing how little the body craves. The head is a totally different story.

Something that has helped me but may seem kind of weird. I bought one of those key chains that can hold a picture. Then I found a model body, something that I want to be like in the future. My inspiration. (clothed since people see it on my keys LOL) when i am hungry i stare at her. it really does help. a visual aid has more power over the mind than just thoughts alone.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the support it means a lot. I'm feeling a bit better this morning and I have bean and artichoke Soup for lunch, that soup always fills me up right away so I should be fine. I also found these little yogurts that are suppose to help suppress your appetite for 4 hours. (ought to get a good 2 hours a least from them!) Plus I slept in until 11:00am today so I missed breakfast! I drank a yogurt (they have these nice start up ones that are orange and Fiber and some other energy ones that have pineapple and ginseng and fiber) Portuguese are crazy for yogurts so at least I have that.

FunnyDuddies: hehe thats actually not a bad idea. I should do what PhotoNut did and photo shop one of my photos to see myself thin.

Hi Heather,

You can do this girl! It is tough, and to be honest, I have cheated a tiny bit. Like the others say, after the first 2-3 days the headache does go away and the tummy stops growling. The biggest part is just the idea of wanting food and wanting to chew. I am really having to keep myself busy to conquer that. But, you will get through it and it will be worth it.

Good luck!

I was detoxing off Girl Scout Cookies for the first 3 days of my pre-op diet. I thought I was going to die, but I made it through it and the rest of the 2 weeks was a breeze.

K@t , you and I are better off without those evil diet busting Girl Scout Cookies. I had bought a case of those Carmel Delights/Samoas. I ate all but one box before I had to start my diet. Thank God someone in my family took my last box before I was able to eat again.

ok...at what point was this supposed to get easier? I'm in the middle of day 4 now and I still feel like crap, headaches, I'm tired. My husbands fish even looked good last night...and I HATE fish! Maybe I'm not eating enough, or to much? Last night I actually mixed some rice in with my Soup and I'm sure I shouldn't have...*sigh*

Protein shake for Breakfast

Soup for lunch

yogurt for snack

soup for dinner

SF pudding for snack

1.5 liters of Water

about 1 liter of crystal light and tea

K@t your pre-op diet is different then mine was. I had 2 Protein Shakes a day and one meal of lean meat and green veggies. Of course my choice of lean meat is beef! This explains why I was not still starving on the 4th day. Try your best to stick to the diet! My best friend was on the diet 2 days less then 2 weeks and her surgeon said her liver was almost too big for him to be able to do the surgery. He said 2 more days would have made a huge difference. I stuck to my 2 whold weeks and my doctor said my liver looked great.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
