what do i expect on my first fill

Recommended Posts

Alright fellow bandsters give it to me straight.... what should I expect on my first fill? Is my food going to get stuck? Is it going to be painful? I just want to know what to be prepared for.

Thanks y'all!

Well....the first 3 fills, I was fine. I just received my 4th fill and have gotten stuck 3 times now. I have to remember to slow down and chew, I think that has been my problem. I got stuck today while eating lunch and forgot and drank a sip of Water, why did I do that? Oh boy...not good. So, just eat slowly, small bites, chew well, and don't drink with your meals....you will be fine.

I had my surg in dec 12. I have had 2 fills. 1st fill I couldn't tell a difference. My dr had put in 3.5 cc at surg. So I was noe at 4.5 cc. Then went 3 weeks later and got 3/4 cc fill. That one I have got stuck 2 times BUT its because I'm eating to fast. I'm slowing down and chewing better. I go back in 3 weeks and I hope that puts me in my green zone. I feel like I'm almost there. Good luck. Fill r so so easy

Chances are, unless you're really lucky, it won't make much difference. As far as the actual getting the fill, it takes just a minute and thinking about it is more painful then the actual fill.

You'll do great, try not to worry.

To me as far as painful it's much less than an iv stick. More than a shot. It's a pain that is quick and brief though cause once the needle is in it doesn't hurt. Pain lasts about 2 whole seconds. That is if your filler is good and your port is easy to access. I didn't notice a difference in what I could eat until my 3rd fill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
