getting banded in march

Recommended Posts

I've done a lot of research and I see alot of people drink Isopure. I've tried all flavors. Grape is decent. Anyone tried anything else? Any pre op info would be greatly appreciated

Follow your doctors orders exactly. Buy the items that you will need ahead of surgery, the doctors offices will give you a list of items. Have liquid tylenol/ibruprofen (baby section of store is the place) , heating blanket and plenty of SF popsicles, SF Jello (I buy Walmart Jello cups ready to eat and many flavors) broths, chicken/beef/veggie and then I dash a bit of dried oinion spices for greatly added flavor. I'm using Costo Premier Protein shakes, 18 pack for $24.99. I use the chocolate flavor, freeze for 50-60 minutes and makes a thick smoothie. 11 oz, no calories,no sugar, 30 grams of Protein. I do use low sugar applesauce as a treat after you've gone through all the stages as a treat.

Youtube surgery and helpful hints are available to view. MOst can not watch the surgery, I did and learned from it. I was driving my car the next day with no pain only a bit of port discomfort. They sew the port on muscle mass near belly button area and sleeping was hard for a couple days. A very soft pillow on the port helps greatly.

It's the best thing I've ever done in getting banded. I should have done this years ago, instead of thinking dieting was the answer. Remember, the band is only a tool and you have to still make wise choices in food selections or YOU will gain the weight slowly back.

It's about YOU and YOUR health, now and in the future.

Best wishes

Thanks for the info. I'm ready to have this done. I've lost 80 lbs in the past with diet and exercise. I just need that extra help. I'm at 321 lbs now. My heaviest I've ever been. I'm tired of my joints and back hurting. I'm ready to get off bp meds. I'm really excited for this life change

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
