Just Dance with the Wii

Recommended Posts

So .. I am 3 weeks post op (almost). My 14 yr old borrowed Just Dance 3 from a friend of mine. She talked me into doing some with her. We did 5 dances before I had to stop. About a half hour for me because I took small breaks to breathe between.

I hate exercise.. or thought I did. I had a blast. We danced and giggled. She is going to dance with me every night for exercise. I didnt think I would have that much fun but I did. I know it was working because I was sweating like crazy. Maybe all I needed to do was find something fun. I think I can do this now. We need to find more fun stuff to do.

On a funny little note.. I kicked her butt 4 out of 5 dances! lol. I had to stop after that. Felt like I was getting a little icky. We are going to work our way up though.

I hate exercise too. You are right about finding something fun to do and the Wii is great for that. The Resort Games are great for the whole family to do & they get you moving. My husband, daughter & I often have a Resort challenge night where we play against each other. It's great fun.

Keep dancing!!!!

LOL yes I thought so too! I had so much fun with her though. It is hard to get your teenager to do anything with you anyways so she asked this morning before school if we were going to dance again tonight and I said yes.

We are going to try the zumba once I start feeling like I can breathe a bit better. LOL baby steps!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
