New group in Arlington.

Recommended Posts

There's a new group meeting in Arlington. Here's the info:

We will be meeting on Thursday, January 31 (last Thursday of the month) at 6:30pm. At Mochalux coffee & Tea Co. 1101 E. Bardin Rd, suite 101, Arlington, TX 76018. It is off Interstate 20 and S. Collins in a strip behind chicken Express.

They charge a fee of $25/hour to let us meet and to reserve seats, but that fee is waived if we purchase $30 worth of drinks/products. Hopefully you won't mind chipping in towards that amount in case we don't purchase enough.

I'm thinking this first meeting will be more of a meet and greet and we can discuss what kinds of things we are hoping to accomplish in our meetings. Also, it shouldn't last longer than an hour.

Hope to see you there!!!

We have not met for quite awhile. But I'm willing to meet. Does anyone have any suggestions for time and place?

Help me out local peeps. I have been having a terrible time. Banded on 12/9. I'm still experiencing some left shoulder pain, a side "runner cramp" type pain and I feel like I have so much pressure on my chest and upper stomach. Is this normal or did anyone experience this? I'm getting better each day, but the pressure and air bubbles in my chest are still full force. Advice? And I'm starving :(

I took two weeks off from work and needed every day of it. I had Lapband with plication and a hernia repaired. It can take a while to recover from surgery. Use a heating pad, take pain meds as needed, and fill up on fluids. Getting in 64 oz of Water helped with hunger. Follow your doctor's orders. This is a time for feeling. And you can call your doctor office. They can give you more specific instructions.

Hey guys.....what were your instructions after your first fill? My doc said 7 days of Clear Liquids and others I have talked to only had to do this between 24hrs to 2 days following a couple days of soft. I'm just frustrated because you pay all this money to help with hunger and restriction and I have literally been starving for 3 weeks of a 6 week life change. Just a little frustrated. .....sorry guys, need to encouragement.

I'm a sleever, but am looking at starting a monthly patient led meeting for ALL WLS patients, like the ones I am part of in Dallas. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
