I went for my 1st consultation today and it went well. Worse case scenario, I have 4 months. If my insurance accepts my previous weight loss attempts then it could be sooner.

They tried to "sway" me towards other WLS but I now know 100% I want the band. It may be extra work and more office visits but I still want the band.

This site has been amazing to me. She asked if I had any questions and I literally didn't have any.

I shared with her my source and it really felt good. I know about the pre op, post op, fills, Protein Shakes, 1/2 cup of food, pain and gas in my shoulder.

I learned it all here. Thank you all so much!

I spent 7mths here before surgery and felt the same way. Matter of fact, you get more info here than most meetings.

Where'd I learn about "bandster hell", here.

Gas pains, stomach noises, everything, here.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
