Gastric Bypass and Lap Bank

Recommended Posts

I had gastric bypass surgery in 2005. I didn't lose much weight and I've recently found out that the Doctor who performed the surgery has a very bad reputation for lives lost and chronic medical issues (me being one of them) Does anyone know If I'm a candidate for the Lap Band even though I've had Gastric Bypass? Thank you!

I have also heard of Lap Band over Gastric Bypass. As a matter of fact I think my surgeon is the one who told me that he is seeing more and more of those.

I would suggest getting in touch with a reputable Band surgeon in your area and have a frank discussion with him/her. Bring your medical records with you....

People do get the band over the bypass but it depends on what kind of medical issues you are having.

I had bypass in 1988. I lost all of my weight but when I hit 40 I started gaining again. I found a doctor in Mexico that did my band over bypass . I haven't had any problems and I'm almost back down to my goal weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
