Hi everyone!

My name is Stephanie. Im new here but have been reading thru this forum for some time now. Im glad to finally be able to say that my insurance is going to cover the procedure!!!! As alot of you may be able to relate, I have dreamed of this since I was in my teens since dieting were all failed efforts! Im looking for people that i can relate to and share this journey with! So many of you are already role models and dont even realize who sees what youve done and the example youve set!!! :D

Welcome, Stephanie and congrats on the insurance coverage, that is great. This forum is the best support around, I have made some great friends and received support throughout my journey. Just dive in, read the posts and ask all the questions you want.

I have my consultation on thursday with my surgeon. The lady I have been working with at the office says bcbs is pretty easy and I could be banded as soon as march! What a blessing. My anxiety and excitement are through the rough. Have any of you guys been banded yet? All these emotions are making it an amazing experience already and I havent even really started!

Hello!! I know the insurance stuff is always a daunting process, so congrats on being approved. I am really happy for you. I was banded in April of 2011. If you have any questions I would be happy to help :).

I was banded Oct 15,2012 and very happy with my choice.

Emotions are one thing that runs rampant through this whole process, but it's all worth it.

Welcome and Congrats on getting approved!! YAY! .. that is such an awesome step ! Best decision ever I have ever made. :) I've only been banded almost 3 months and things are going well. Ups and downs.. you have a road ahead and it really isn't as hard as you'd think and it gets easier. The hardest part is the emotional eating if you are one of those as many are.. me .. oh yes! Once I get past that, omg.. I am soo golden! Just remember you are worth it to be happy, to feel great and live longer! wishing you all the success! *Hugs*!

Congrats ! I remember that approval phone call I revived a few weeks ago. I started my liquid diet today ( ugh) and banded on the 29th of Jan ! The one thing I will say, it has been very emotional for me. ESP on fri, knowing it was the last day I would ever eat w/ a "normal" stomach. But I have been fat my whole entire life and I am 42, so I am so ready for this change in my life. Good luck to you!

Congrats Stephanie! There are a lot of smart and experienced people on here who have been successful. We can all learn from their experiences. But as far as I know none of us are doctors. Keep that in mind.

This forum has been a wonderful support to me. I have been mostly a "reader" of posts but I am trying to get more involved. My surgery is on Monday. I can't wait to be on the "other side"! Congrats on your approval!
