  2. Hi, I currently live in Nevada but will possibly be relocating with my husband's company to the Peru area in the next few months? I just have some friendly questions about the area and would like to meet some other bandsters in the area as well. Blessings ~ Shanna H.

    I totally agree IP. Totally!
  5. Thanks for sharing your story and being honest. You have helped me be honest with myself and to realize that my doctor knows his sh&% and wouldn't tell me what I needed to do if it wasn't for a reason. Thank you again Helen!

    Update on fills

I had my first fill last Friday 01-18-13 and it was a breeze. The numbing medication hurt a bit but then again it is going in a very sensitive area. The PA pulled out what saline was in my band from surgery since it was my first fill. We determined I had 5.5cc at the time of surgery and she added .5cc to that. I did the drink test to make sure water passed through without complications. I had no problems. She told me my next fill would be a month down the road. I left the office a little dumbfounded that it would be so far down the road for a fill. I felt no restriction so I was a little bummed out. However, my doctor has always said that if you don't feel restriction or you are hungry, DO NOT hesitate to call their office. I decided to give it a few days. The week went by without incident. I decided that with the hunger and no restriction that it was time to call the doctor. I left a message and received a call back within an hour which I felt was awesome. I got the go ahead to have another fill and they were very supportive of the idea. I have my 2nd fill today and I hope to have some restriction. I will document my journey as it goes. Blessings ~
  16. Congrats! That is absolutely HUGE!

    First blog

Hi there friendly bandsters ~ I decided to give it a shot at blogging. I have been banded just about 6 weeks and what an awesome ride! I am not new to WLS as I had the gastric bypass in 8/2003 and had great success with it. However, over the next 7 years I had to have 6 back surgeries causing me to regain 80lbs of the 250lbs I had lost. Since then, I have added 30 extra pounds to that total. I decided that something more had to be done and sought out have the the bypass "revised". I was told the best option was to do the lap band. I am so grateful that I chose to go that route. I am learning how to live again. How to eat right and how to take better care of my body. I read on a blog that "if you take care of your band, it will take care of you" - author unknown. But that is so stinking true. I hope to blog everyday just to help me focus on myself for a change and my new found life. I am not out to offend anyone or anything like that but to just document my journey and to have something to come back to for reference when the times get tough. Signing off for the night. Blessings to all ~ Shanna

    decided to post my pics

Very nice pictures! keep up the good work. You are looking fabulous!
  22. I had an Upper GI done to just make sure everything was working properly. I am glad I did, because it just helps rule out any possible question of leaks or malfunctions. I am not sure what your doctor will do for you but I wish you all the best in the world. Please be sure to check back with us and let us know how it goes. Blessings ~

    Surgery is in 2 days!!

You guys will both be in good hands. This is a new exciting part of your lives. I am a little over a month out and it is the best decision I have ever made. Just remember to breathe and be honest with the pain. Let the nurses know if you are having any nausea or severe pain. Stay on top of the pain and don't let it get out of control. I know you will do great. Please come back and share your journey with us. Blessings ~
