I don't have an option after the hiccups start there isn't a darn thing I can do except give up. And yes, the band wins every time, if I don't have enough time to eat, then I don't eat, rushing is not an option. I need to keep some energy gels in my desk to keep my blood sugar up though.

I am still trying to figure this out as well. I don't really get breaks at work. I eat while doing paperwork so have maybe 10-20 minutes. Sucks

You have to learn to make time to eat. Everyone has 20 minutes to eat throughout the day. If you can't find 20 minutes to eat then you need to try to find time or you will spend your band life being miserable and hungry.

I have the same problem at work, where I usually get only one 15-minute break per shift. Although I firmly believe that we should eat solid food, when at work I usually eat soft stuff or a liquid like Soup or Protein Shake. That way I get some nutrition without causing an eating problem that can make my day even worse.

Normal day, no problem. I do eat at my desk, but I am my group is the equivalent of IT firefighters. If is is broken and and reaches us, then it is bad and we have to drop what ever we are doing and focus on getting the issue fixed. That and attending meetings that the CIO has assigned to me, as well as meetings with vendors. Throw in an adult daughter with the flu and a run across town to take my granddaughter to school and pick her up afterwards. I didn't even see my desk until 12:00 and by then I just wanted to pour my lunch down my throat and move on. Thankfully when last night I was able to mellow out and enjoy a nice slow dinner.< /p>

I run into the same thing at work, I eat at my desk. I have found if I take things that are already in tiny pieces (veggie chili has been my most recent go-to), it makes it easy to eat slow. I just have one little portion every so often, and the food stays on my desk for twenty minutes. It does not work with sandwiches since I tend to forget and take a preband size bite. I also bring things like veggie lasagna, but I cut it into little pieces ahead of time so that I just heat it up and eat the little bites.

Honestly, we shouldn't be eating at our desks!!! Someone needs to complain to management

One of my favorite quotes: "The things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least" --Goethe. Easier said than done though! Ha! good luck on finding a solution that works for you. :)

I am the management :( and it is my observation that we are worse on taking breaks than most of the people who work for us. But there are always ways. I had a vendor call ask to take me out to lunch so we could discuss purchases for the year, instead I suggested that we meet for coffee. I actually enjoyed it more than our normal lunches, and I wasn't in a food coma for the rest of the day.

I agree with you that sandwiches are going to be a problem, so I have ordered some chop sticks off of Amazon and when I reach solid foods I will just precut everything so that I can still eat at my desk. Even thinking about sealing lunch size portions into vacuum seal pouches so I can just grab one in the morning and not have to worry about the hassle of fixing it then.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
