Anyone use an app to remind you to drink Water? I've tried out a few free ones but still not happy. Any suggestions? I am will to pay for an app that comes well recommended.

Thanks!

Tara - I use an app to track my Water but haven't looked into anything to remind me. My aunt also had lapband done and what her doc did is program the alarm on her smart phone for every one often to drink water and to get up and walk around a bit. This has been working well for her. Not sure if it would be an option for you? Try setting multiple alarms over the course of the day and I think after they go off they automatically stay on for the next day so you don't have to reset them daily...at least that's how my alarm works on my iPhone. I would have to manually turn it off if I didn't want it to go on at the same time the next day.

I've been using the timer on my phone. Take drink and set it for 10 minutes. It works unless I'm not at my desk and then I have no idea when I last drank something. I know that sounds silly. But I can get up to go to the printer and get pulled into an hour long meeting easily. I just can't seem to keep track.

Tara - I hear you on that. Same thing happens to me at work. But I suppose in that case an app wouldn't help either unless we had our phones and Water bottles with us constantly. When I have the opportunity (aka being at my desk) I try to drink as much as I can. Or on my drive to work. I've got the 64oz down now but I want to increase. I think you will get there. We just need to get into the habit.

Yeah. I was hoping to find an app that had more details than just the timer on the phone. Hopefully someone can recommend one.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
