Another go thing about having this now 1) like Jack said, a lot of useful info with test. I found out I had silent reflux with esphogitis erosion. If I hadn't had the test it could have turn into cancer.

2) It gives you a great short prelude to what going under for LBS will be like.

First you're there and next thing you know you're there again, like was I really out for an hour?

WOW! Good thing you had this done when you did! I'm happy you're ok!

My test is over, and yes, when they woke me up, I was mad it was so short! lol Dr. said I am cleared for surgery.. I have no issues what so ever! YAY!

After the first one I woke up and asked when we were going to get started. Then had to have second one because I will be having 2 doctors and 2 surgeries. One to repair hiatal hernia and then install the band. When I was told there would be two doctors involved, all I could say was, "Wow, what a paradox!" One of the nurses came at me with something pointy so I did not make any more jokes. Just sleep and you will enjoy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
