Non-Fill Today- I'm So Hungry!

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I need some support! I Had surgery in August, and have done relly well. Then Storm Sandy hit and life went haywire for awhile, and I lost even more weight due to not eating much and working cleaning up for 3 weeks without stopping. So during that period of time the weight poured off. In the last 10 days as life has settled down alittle I have been more hungry than ever. I was really looking forward to my next fill, 4 weeks after it was due. Well, I saw my doctor today and he was so thrilled at my loss that he only gave me a tiny fill, not hearing me say how hungry I've been. Now I'm starving, still only on liquids because small as it was it was still a fill, and not sure how to proceed. If I'm this hungry now what will it be like going forward. The doctor doesn't want to see me for 6 weeks. I'm tempted to call the arpn who I had been seeing- I think she is a better listener, but does that put her in a spot between me and the doc? I don't know. Any thoughts. By the way, I've averaged 2 pounds a week, but that was including the crazy 3 week weight loss and is not indicitive of the last couple of weeks at all, where my weight goes up and down.

Thanks!!

Give it time to let that tiny fill to kick in before you think about another fill. I had a small fill last week (I want it that way, don't want to over fill, unfill and go through all that mess) and at first I thought this fill did nothing as I knew I needed something because after losing 61lbs so far, some of that had to be from my belly and the hunger was starting to creep up more. Anyway, that was Thursday, now that it's Tuesday, the fill has kicked in and I'm so glad I stuck with the small fill, it's shown itself finally and I'm happy where I'm at until next time. But if you still feel this way after say 3 weeks, I'd just give them a call that you want more. I made my appt for 6 weeks ahead, but it's always an option if I feel I need a fill in between, I just ask.

I'd call and get a bit more you shouldn't be hungry at all at this point. Being hungy and now the work is done you are going to want junk more.

Are you hungry because right now you are on liquids. I am getting my first fill on Friday. Was supposed to be last Friday but didnt work out that way. I will be on liquids for the day but back to food the next day. My dr. is only giving .5cc per fill which is fine with me.

Probably didn't help that I had fasting bloodwork done this morning for a physical (like I haven't been checked out enough!) but I've reacted so strongly post surgery and post fill (having to remind myself to eat) that I didn't even think about it. I've been lucky, I know that. I wasn't hungry at all till about 3 weeks ago. I've warned my family to stay away tonight  and let me knit. Hopefully keeping my hands busy will help. If I don't feel better by the end of the week I'll call. It feels like good old fashion dieting right now, I was hoping that part would be easier long term. We'll see. I'm sure my emotional state over the Sandy devestation doesn't help.

Thank you everyone who replied, just knowing someone is there makes it easier.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
