Gained 5 Pounds In A Week From Thansgiving:(

Recommended Posts

I have gained any weight in the last 6 months+! How do I get motivated again after feeling so disappointed?

In order to gain 5 pounds in one week, you'd have to consume 17,500 extra calories. That is roughly 2500 extra calories a day for a week.

It's highly unlikely.

Could you have eaten a lot of salt/sodium? Or possibly even your "time of the month" coming?

Salty gravy, salty stuffing, stress of the holiday, TOM??? It seems unrealistic.

All I know is I weighed last Wednesday on the same scale and was five pounds heavier:( period ended right before thanksgiving:( maybe I should weigh again, lol. Idk, I'm really disappointed in myself because I really didn't think I overdid it too much:)

Don't feel guilty!! I dont know how much or if I gained any weight ,but you can rest to sure that we are not the only ones that ate more than we would normally eat. So no stressin and what I do is stay away from the scale until weight in ;)

Ms chocolate, how often do you weigh in? I'm inconsistent. Sometimes it's every 3-4 days or once a week.

It takes a few days for the lbs to catch up.... But today start upping your Water and get back to measuring food and counting calories...before that number becomes insurmountable

I know you didn't ask me. But i will volunteer it.... It I weigh in 2 x a day...morning and night, I know it's excessive but not getting on the scale for the majority of my life got me to 377 lbs...so I figure it doesn't hurt. ;)

I weighed in this week and I lost nothing. The old me would have been tempted to quit. What I do know is I am doing what I am supposed to do and that I won't always lose but I am in for the long haul. I can't expect to lose at once it took a while to put it on.

Stay. Strong and stick to your plan

It's gonna be okay. I've lost 170 in less than 3 years and during that time gained 5 lbs like 15 times. Just get back to what you know works. Be kind and loving to yourself. The big changes come once you decide to really like who you are and stop listening to the shameful voices.

I am right with you. I will be one year out next month and this is the first gain for me. Tomorrow is a new day and we can both start fresh! We can do it. I started on the higher Water intake today. Good Luck girl you can do it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
