I'm 9 days post op, and in the full liquid stage! Struggling getting enough Protein in, and trying not to eat anything normal. (I've had a few bites of things and its gone down fine, but I really want to stick to the rules) I have Protein powder, but it tastes so nasty!

Any ideas?!

It is unflavored, but there's just something about it that is gross.

I guess I need to find a different kind, but then again, I don't want up go broke trying different kinds that I don't like.

I took bean Soups, and split pea soups, and like that. Add enough Water to liquefy and blend well. It was good and tasted like real food.< /p>

The unjury unflavore is awesome! Out is truly unflavored. . .it does make clear liquid slightly opaque, but out does not alter taste, texture our snell of food! I LOVE IT! shakes are a problem for me, but the Unjury Brand unflavored and chicken Soup are really great got meals and add ins. . . If you want just a shake, the Syntrax Nectars in Double Stuffed Cookie is just plain awesome. . .it rates just like a Cookies and cream shake when mixed with fat free vanilla Silk! Good luck with your proteins!

Post op I didn't have any Protein shakes they made me gag. I stuck to liquids by making my own nutritional Soups and blending them till they were the right consistency. I'm five months post op and when I see Protein powders, shakes etc even on a supermarket shelf they turn my stomach. A month on them pre op was all I could handle.

It's still early days if you don't get in all you're protein requirements it's ok that will come with solid foods.

Try adding cottage cheese to things. I have added it to my Soup and blended it. Jut add some more liquid if it isn't runny enough.

Last night I baked some apples with out the skins and with cinnamon. I blended them with almond milk and cottage cheese and it was a nice break from soup.

My doctors also allows cream of wheat, just really runny.

I was really just trying to think of some food ideas outside of the box. Had some apples on hand and was getting tired of Soups.

I have also taken Greek yogurt, almond milk, and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Protein powder and mixed that together.

If your doctor told you full liquids please stay on that diet. Yes it sucks but many of us have been there. I highly recommend smoooth Tomato Soup or squash Soup that's been blended. For Tomato soup I added non salt Mrs dash flavorings before heating it really helped the flavor . Blended apples or Greek yogurt are a mushy not a liquid ! And yes I know how difficult it is because I was not allowed mushys until date 15.

Not to be rude, but as I stated in my post, everything was blended to to a runny liquid state using Water or almond milk. My doctor is the one who suggested to use Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. As long as you can drink it through a straw, it is allowed on a full liquid diet. But I don't use a straw.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
