Does 1Cc Make That Much Difference?

Recommended Posts

I'm having a hard time getting my band where I want it. My question is does 1cc or 1/2 a cc make that big of a difference? I've had a slip fixed and can't seem to get band right and my Dr. Even has one of those machines that shows how barium goes down. I have a 10cc band. My calculation 9 too much 8 not enough. Thanks in advance

It absolutely can!! I was feeling okay at 6 cc's, and my last fill was only 0.5 cc's (bringing me up to 6.5) and it made the world of difference. I'm now totally in the green zone. I've heard as little as 0.2 cc's can change the restriction completely.

Yes. Even .1cc can make a difference. Seriously.... I have 10cc band and the highest I was at was 4.4 and it was super tight, went down to 3.9 and was a little too loose, so went to 4.1 and it's almost perfect. .2 made a difference to me...

You know, I wouldn't have believed it, but it just happened to me! My first fill was 5cc. I was hungry every 2-3 hours. Couldn't wait to get the second fill. I got 1cc, and OMG, what a difference! I have been so happy the past two days because I am no longer hungry whatsoever between meals. Staying full for a full 4-5 hours and have lost my craving for food in between. This has made me so happy. So yes, yes, yes, it can make a difference!

My surgeon has given me .25cc fills. Those fills make a huge difference!!!! I went from 5.75 to 6cc right where I need to be...but a week ago I was in between red and yellow zone. It's better this week and weight loss going strong:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
