Oh so it's like the staple your stomach and give you the lap band on top?

And I know it's only been a week but have you weighed yourself today? Any idea if you have lost anything since the surgery?

WOW! That's great, what did your surgeon have you eat for those 2 months?

Wow! No wonder you lost 65 pounds! Is that standard for almost everyone, to do a diet like that for a month or 2? I just thought it was a liquid diet the week before.

how much one loses is based on how well the person does following the eating and exercising suggestions

if you are a larger person, you can lose more..but the band and implication will only help you if you help it.

some people go into this thinking if they have this or any wls, it will help them lose weight overnight,,

yes, you can lose but imagine how much more you can lose if one really follows the instructions they are given.

i feel one must change one's thinking in order to be successful.

as well as changing ones eating habits..

all the best

Is the "I band" just another name for lap band with plication? I have never heard of the Iband but it sounds like my lap band with plication maybe?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
