April's Chat

Happy April Everyone!!!!!!!

Pat - It's so good to have you back with us. Sorry you were sick, sounds like it was perty yummy. (The phlem part) LOL

Rene - Yeah, I can make some perty yummy health drinks. I am sitting here sipping on a chocolate soy milk w/strawberries n cream protein shake as we speak.

Darcy - Thanks again for the compliment on my hair. You're too kind. Sounds like you had wonderful times up at the cabin too. I wish I had a little place like that to retreat to. Maybe one day when I'm old and decrepid I will. LOL

Betty - Good to see you back. Sorry about the nice boss having to leave. Hopefully the next one will be equally nice, if not even more so. Take it easy and I wish you many happy and peaceful ZZZZZZZ's.

Cindy - I was fighting off a migrane all flippin day again today, so I am seriously feeling your pain. I am sitting here sipping a protein drink in hopes that it will help. I know that I haven't been getting my protein in this week since being filled, and I honestly believe that's the root of my problem. Usually an adjustment at the chiro's takes care of the problem, but I realized that I've been so limited on my intake with very little protein (or much of anything for that matter), that that's probably what my problem is. The shakes pack a 50 grams of protein per shake, so I'm going to have to make one a day the rule from now on I guess.

The night went by fast at work, and now I get two off - THANK YOU JESUS! LOL But then I work seven in a row after that. *And the punishment never ends* LOL

Never in my life did I think that I'd be able to eat so little and be content, or have trouble getting enough liquids in each day. It is really taking a lot of concentration and effort to get used to my new stomach, but I'm not complaining. This is wonderful compared to being able to hork it on down like I did before. I am still so greatful for this fill. It has already meant the world to me, and the words "sweet spot" begin to have meaning in my life.

Well, off to beddie bye I go. Everyone have a great one, and I'll check back in on you chickies tomorrow.

Y'll can gather at either place, my VA home or the place on the beach, I'm ready for an East Coast Bash. I'll furnish the place the rest of you make the plans. As they say in Texas Holdem, I'm all in!

Ok... We have a location! Now for a date! Who's in? :clap2:

Here is news you don't read about every day here on LBT:

My wife has decided to get the Lap-Band done! This is very exciting for all of us, I just wanted to share it with you guys.

Good Morning and HAPPY EASTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ira, thats great your wife has decided to get banded....I know its something you wanted for her as well (for health reasons). Congratulations!!! Look at you, 6 lbs from goal.... TERIFFIC!!!!

I finally spoke with Pat yesterday. I was in the grocery store picking out a cake with my DD for today's Easter dinner when she called LOL, I couldn't concentrate looking at all those cakes and my dd drooling on the glass window so I called her once I got home. We had a lovely chat and yes ladies, she has a soft southern accent. very sweet.

Shackdog, happy April to you too :)

Sherry I hope your okay today :puke: sorry about the spat w/your sister. I know the feeling of dealing with siblings that are asswipes. I have 6 asswipes to deal with........who needs em LOLOL.

I got up at 4:50 AM and couldn't go back to sleep..... so I'm gonna get me some coffee and get back to reading...

BBL and again, HAPPY EASTER !!!!!!!

Congratulations Ira, I know you and your wife must be thrilled. She has such an advantage, a spouse that can help her reach her goal, what a role model you'll be.

Eileen, what are you doing up so early? You must have been jonesing to get on here too, LMAO. I so enjoyed chatting with you yesterday.

Donna, pick a date, somebody's gotta do it. Maybe pick a couple of dates and the majority wins. It's really busy around the 4th of July, then it get very hot and humid, but then again, that's what beaching is about.

What a nice Easter gift, back on line with my friends again...:clap2: :clap2: .

Hi ya Pat..... No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up at 5 or 6 am. I'm so used to it that I don't even need an alarm clock. POOF! I'm up. And with my nasty allergies I'm coughing so hard (didn't want to wake DD).

I sware folks, I'm coughing so hard (yes I'm taking meds) that it feels like my band is gonna come out of my nose. Interesting way to get nose jewerely.

Oh well I gotta get my ass back up to do some more cleaning and I start cooking in about 1 hour.

TTYL !!!

I can not do the 4th of July, DH's birthday is on the 3rd (he turns 50....and yes I'm having a party for him on May 20th....anyone wanna come?) we're also having a party for him then. But don't let me stop you because its hard for me to get away period....

Happy Bunny Day to You.....

Off to church, but wanted to say to my friends ..... Have a wonderful day! I missed you guys yesterday.

I asked DH for a dog and he got me one! I was soooo excited. She seems to be very quiet though? hum.... what's with the stuffing coming out it's a**? Hummm LOL

love you guys,

NO, not the 4th, it's way too crowded then. Anytime but holidays, those three day weekends are crazy.

Who was planning a big Bday party for their DH? Hmmmm did you have it yet?

Happy Easter Y'all!

Well, the party is over and it was a big hit! We had about 25 people here and it was a fun time. I was tired, but I still enjoyed it. I woke up on Friday at 2:00 am, just stayed in bed till 4 and decided that was stupid, so I got up and started making my potato salad. I never did go back to bed, so I was really ready for bed last night! I made some pork and chicken in the smoker, then I made potato salad, crab salad, macaroni salad, and baked beans. I also made some quaseo (?) dip and served that with chips as snack till everyone got here. I made up a big batch of Pat's drinks and they all loved them too!

Eileen - I do the same thing, get up every morning between 4:30 and 5:00, never set an alarm clock. I guess I just did it for so many years that I can't break the habit. If I stay in there any longer than that my back hurts real bad when I get up! I sure hope that cough gets better for you!

Ira - That is so cool that your DW is going to do the lapband too! I would think it would be so much easier to do when both people are on it. When is she going to have it done, does she have a date yet?

Pat - You are so sweet to do all that for your son. We all think once we raised them that is the end, and it just never is. I guess it keeps us busy, just helping them out. Is she letting him have the kids at all for visitation?

I have just been busy with this party and all. I can't get on here at work, as my boss sits right behind me and can see what I do. My screen is visable to both the big boss and my office manager at all times. That is the one thing I don't like about it.

Darcy - Hey girl, are you going to the cabin this weekend? Have you started any of your quilts yet? How is that fill working for you?

Kelly - Glad you can fit in the jeans, hope you feel much better too!

Shackdog - Hello! Glad to see you here!

Donna - Love your avatar! Hey, a stuffed dog is better than no dog! You are probably right, I don't think I can sit still for too long. I am learning though!:) :puke: :puke:

Patty - It's a good thing I don't live near Disney, with all the things you talk about I would be a very poor person!:biggrin1:

Mary - That is sweet of your DSIL! Hopefully she will remain your friend.

Sherry - Hopefully things will work out with your family. Try not to worry about it too much, sometimes the less said the better off it is. My heart goes out to you.

Cindy - Making cookies again! I think I am done making cookies for a long time! I sure got carried away at Christmas time, I guess it was because I wasn't working and got bored.

Anne - Hey girl, what ya doin today? How is that band working for you?

Can you tell the difference in the two bands?

I hope I didn't miss anyone, if I did I'm sorry. Just wanted to wish you all a nice Easter.

Warning!

The following is a dirty joke, so if you don't like them don't read any further!

Hey, do you all know why the Easter Bunny hides his easter eggs?

He doesn't want anyone to know he's been F........ing chickens!

Gotta go!

Oh Betty ROFLMFAO !!! you nasty woman you LOL. Glad the party was a success.

Donna, the stuff coming out of the pup's ass could be worms. Bring him/her to the vet for some meds and it will take care of it. Congrats on the new Pup.... puppy breath ahhhhhhhh.

LMFAO

Eileen: It is a stuffed dog! I am still laughing. We can't have dogs where we live in florida so he won't let me break the rules.

OMG... I am still laughing

Happy Easter!

Relieved that LBT is back up.... or was it just my computer?

I just baked an upside-down pumpkin pecan pie.... needs to chill. :hungry:

My co-worker Terry invited all of us to her home after church. I'm honored that folks want to have our company. For years NO ONE invited us for potlucks and such and its because my EX wasn't much fun to be around, and that hurts.... anyway I baked a huge pan of cornbread and am SO ready to have conversation with adults. The kids will get to hunt for eggs and we will teach everyone the art of egg fighting(garrett is a master). Hope this message find everyone in good health and happiness.

A blessed Easter to all!

I couldn't get LBT up yesterday, either...

We just got home from the Easter festivities...up at 4:50 like Eileen, sunrise service at church (we got through that okay), then over to Dad's for brunch, Easter egg hunt, gifts and all that. Then my niece and nephew-n-law brought the beautiful new baby girl over. Can we all say, aaaaaaaaaaah. Beautiful. DD held her for at least an hour, then got a lesson in breastfeeding, LOL! I figure, might as well know the whole story, not just the cute part. Also, a lesson in diaper changing. LMAO!

Many hugs to all of you who are missing family members this Easter.

So, now I'm gonna veg out for the rest of the afternoon.

Eileen, don't you love Pat's wonderful voice? Hope your Easter went well!

Ira, congrats to your DW! Of course, she can come her for cheers and hugs!

Donna, I'm still laughing about your poor puppies worms! Just laughing WITH you, Eileen, sweetie!

Patty, have a blast with the adults at the Easter gathering. So glad to see you finding your way in your new life. It's kinda exciting in a way, isn't it?

Pat, I had many compliments on my beautiful dress, thank you very much! Apparently, I'm not as, well, blessed, as you...so the neckline was very appropriate for church on me! LOL!

Betty, wow! I bet your parties are the best for food! Everything sounded great! Rest up today! Is that even possible?

Okay, two NSV's to report...first, I successfully gave up ice cream for Lent! That is officially over today, but I think I'm gonna keep going for a while. It's such a food addiction for me. Secondly, I had to buy new bras..smaller in the band size. So, I started in 46C, and bought 40C. I really AM shrinking!

I saw my banded niece today, who is about 11 months out, and 70 lbs lighter...she looks great! So, onward we go!

Hugs to all...where'd I put those marshmallow chicks?

Cindy

Ok. If I am going to arrange any kind of get together....

1. What State and City are you from?

2. Pat, where are we traveling to?

3. Besides me, who exactly is interested in a Jersey Girl get together?

4. If you are interested, is there a date that absolutely will not work for you?

I am such a "planner" so this will be a ton of fun for me....

I have to go take the "dog" out.... LOL I am still cracking up!

kisses,

Oh go ahead, laugh at my expense..... hmmmmmmmmmpf. ROFL, how the hell did I know it was a fake dog...for crying out loud..... Donna are you sure its not worms? ROFL.... I can picture you taking it to a vet and asking them whats wrong w/its ass HAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Cindy congrats on the shrinking boobs :)

Patty I'm glad your going out for Easter, enjoy !!!!!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter and hope you got to spend time with family and friends. We had a wonderful Easter here. DH's Brother and his wife came to visit and have been here since Tuesday. So we had them plus my friend and her hubby and daughter came over and my son came home early from his dad's. He wanted to spend Easter with me and his Step-dad. I thought that was quite the compliment :). THEY had Turkey, ham and the fixings. I had quite the PB episode on the first try of scrambled eggs this morning and that was it. I was done with eating for the day. Doc said mushies and my body is SCREAMING it lol. It was TERRIBLE! This was the first time I, ummmm let loose, I've only had sliming before with that golfball. NOT this time. YUCKY! Anyway....mashed potatoes with LOTS of gravy, squash and sweet potatoes were my Easter meal and it went down nice and smooth. WHEW!

Donna and Pat - I'd love to have an East Coast party :) I'm on my cruise from July 16-23 so that's out for me. Some weekends are tricky because of my son going alternate weeks with his dad but, I should be able to work that out. Once people throw out specific dates I'll know better :) I'd really love to meet my friends here at LBT :) So sweet of you to offer a meeting place Pat!

Cindy - Wahoo congrats on the smaller band size. What a difference aye? That's great and keep up the great work. Oh I tried some of those Zone bars you talk about and I like them. Thanks for the tip!

Patty - I hope you had a great day at your friends house. I bet the boys collected lots of eggs :)

Betty - Sounds like you have some great recipes. Maybe we should all get together and create a NJ LBT Chat (Can't say chicks cause the gentlemen I hope will help too) recipe book :) Wouldn't it be great to put together a band friendly menu? Oooooooo yea. If people would like to do that I'm willing to volunteer to put it all together in word. Then I can email everyone that pages. Sounds like fun!

Ira - Congrats to you and your wife on her deciding on the Band. I know it's so much easier with my DH dieting or changing his eating habits to go along with my banding. Your wife had a head start already having you as her mentor. That's awesome and I wish you both the best!

Eileen - I get up early when I don't have to yet, work days the alarm has to wake me up. Hmmm wonder why hahaha. (Psssst I was with you, I was wondering what was wrong with Donna's dog hahaha)

Shackdog - welcome and happy April to you too. Hope to hear more from ya.

Forgive me Bubbame I don't know your first name, but I hope your STBX gets more reasonable. Its just not worth fighting over because kids are smarter than ya think. Doesn't matter the age they pick up on it. Been there done that and thankfully my ex and I get along great when it comes to agreeing on my son's well being. I wish you the best and pray for a good outcome with it all for you and your children.

Anne - Hope you're doing well and having a good Easter egg hunt. Hope all your work paid off and you were able to enjoy your company.

Everyone...I have to thank you for your kind words regarding the situtation with my sister. My mom who's out visiting my Aunt and Uncle actually came by today with them on their motorcycles. She's so dang cute in her leathers hahaha. My 64 year old mumsy is out riding in her black leather jacket with the fringe that her and my aunt put black and silver beads on every 5th one, her leather chaps, gloves, boots and vest....they are having the time of their lives. I couldn't help but smile when I saw her and know that her living here with us made this all possible for her. She no longer has to worry about yard work, house problems etc. Well, I wear my heart on my sleeve and a tear formed when I saw her UGH. (Wish I could learn to hide stuff. Never could with her.) Well she told me when she comes home Monday she wants to hear ALL that my sister said and she means ALL of it. I told her it's not pretty and I can't even bring myself to say it. She insists and made me promise. CRIPE now what? How do I tell her her other daughter was flipping out and calling her every name in the book most of which don't even come into my mind never mind cross my lips? One word in particular makes my stomach want to hurl. I'm so stuck in the middle of stuff it's sickening. It's been this way my entire life. I've always been the one holding this family together from before my alcoholic father left until now. Why, as my shrink I had years ago said, am I the adult in the family when at the time I should of been a kid. Well.....I've decided I need to yet again take a step back from my siblings. My life is so much better off without them. Sad to say because I do love them but, I just can't deal with it anymore. The crap, the drama, the jealousy, petiness and meaness. It's ALL just not me. In the meantime...what the heck to do about what my mom is asking me to do ugh.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, prayers, positive energy....I thank God for all of you. He brought me here for a reason and it wasn't just the band.
