Found A Whole Section On The 5 Day Pouch Test On This Website....

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm on day 3 of the 5 day pouch test. I think I literally starved the last couple days being on liquids only. How did I do this for 4 weeks 3 yrs ago? Doing well, lost 5 lbs as of this morning! There's not much info on lapbandtalk.com on the pouch test, so I did some digging and there's a whole section for just this topic: http://livingafterwls.com/forum/index.php?showforum=92.

Not sure if it's gunna work for me, as my band is still slightly slipped from 6 mths ago. I have no symptoms anymore, after my dr took 1cc of Fluid out a couple of months ago, so he said we'll just let it be for now. But I've found that I feel like I have no band after about 6pm. I could eat the side of a barn! And so, I have. Since getting married last Dec, I've gained back 16 of the 104 lbs I had lost. Was only 9 lbs from goal, now I'm 25 (actually, only 20 now that I've lost 5 lbs the last couple days!). Have to do something. Had to go to the Goodwill a few days ago and buy size 10 jeans (my 8's won't button anymore) - I can't afford a whole bigger wardrobe (especially since I bought a smaller one in the past 3 yrs!)

Just enjoyed my 3/4 of a cup (allowed a cup, but could only finish 3/4!) of egg salad. Yeah for REAL food day! Tomorrow I get even more REAL food! If I could just stay away from the dang Fritos!

I hear ya, im still trying to decide if I want to try Really hard and get down to a size 8. I've been stuck at this weight for close to 9 months and I've tried a couple of times to get down the last 5 to 10 lbs.

I have been debating on doing the 5 day test to see what it would do for me. I should just buck down and get it done.

Good job on making it this far. I also hear u on the Fritos, damn things...

The only internet access I have is on my phone and its not the greatest. Can you please tell me what the 5 day diet is and the purpose? I have heard it mentioned before but interested in learning about it. Thanks!

Its meant to kinda get you reaquanted with your band. It will get you off slider foods and get you back to eating Proteins and drinking Water like we all should. It is suppose to kinda reposition your band and make it feel like it is working again like it is suppose to. Like I said I have not tried it, but that is what it says on the website. It is kinda like a shortened post op phase.

Hope that answers your questions :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
