Stuck After Fill....ughhh!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone...

I had my surgery on April 16, 2012. I am down 37 pounds. On Wednesday October 10th I had another fill...this makes my 4th. Not sure how many cc's because my Doctor doesn't seem to share. Anyway, in the morning I am very tight...which I am used to but I am having a lot of trouble with foods that I have had an easy time with in the past. Such as, egg salad, steamed moist chicken, and even yogurt. Is this normal? Can it be that fickle? I am getting hungry alot but the stuck episodes really hurt and slow me down.....

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GRATEFUL!!!!

I just had this happen last week. I was banded in January and I am down 67lbs with 13 more to go. I have not had to have very many fills. I got on on July 3rd and did not have another one until last week. I did ok for a couple of days. I really couldn't eat much either. By Sunday I was having a lot of pain. I went back yesterday and he took some out. He said it was just too tight. I feel much better today but am still on liquids. I thought I had something stuck but he said it was just my esophugus was irritated due to the band being too tight. Hope this helps

You might need some Fluid taken out, ask your doc how much fluid is there. Your body, your band, your business. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
