I have a bmi around there. I was banded on 9.17.12 and have lost around 22 lbs since pre-op. now I'm fully healed and can eat what I want, combined with hunger creeping back in. First fill is Monday thankfully. I need to keep the momentum going!

How do you feel?

Wow we were banded 10 days apart! I am feeling better every day. But when I got the EGD the doctor took a biopsy and found out I had an infection in the lining of my stomach.. So I have been feeling with that. I have been eating mushy foods like creamy Soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt and cream of wheat... It's getting really old!!! I get a fill on 10.25. Do you find if I ask who your doctor was??? Feel free to message me! Thanks! Are you nervous about your fill? And about how much are you eating a day?

That sucks about EGD. Hopefully that will clear up soon.

The surgeon I used was Dr. Hong.

Not nervous about the fill at all. I'm actually fully healed, can eat whatever I want and in a pretty dangerous place. Im trying to stay to a cup of food per meal, but am only successful about 70% of the time. The fills can't come fast enough....

I have a low BMI but not as low as you! I was banded 7-31-2012 at the weight of 197. I am now at 165-168. When I had my EDG done I also had an infection and had to take antibiotics for two weeks before my surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
