100Lbs Reached Today At Doc Visit!

Recommended Posts

It will be 3 years on October 22nd 2012 since my Lap Band surgery. I have reached 100lbs today and only 6 lbs more to go to reach my goal weight. Yes, I could have achieved faster if I worked out 3-5 times a week, but I am happy with my results. I lost 68lbs in the first year, and then 20 pounds each year after. I am a size 6!! so very happy - much better than size 20 :) My band is looking good and is filled to 5.25cc of a 10cc band. The doctor said I am doing great! Just wanted to share my success and hope others are doing great too!

My 3 yrs was Oct 1st. I've lost 104 lbs, but gained about 16 back this past 6 mths (due to a slip and unfll/fill/tweaking of my band), so I'm still 25 lbs from goal. Ugh. 6 lbs away muct feel fabulous! Last Dec, I was 9 lbs away and I thought I had it in the bag! Little did I know....

Congrats! WTG!

Great job! I think most of us think of it as a race to get the weight off as soon as possible. I think the way you have done it will help you keep it all off in the long run. Congratulations! And thanks for sharing.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
