Band Not Working.

So.I have had my band since June 6th.....and its been doing great started at 243 and am currently at 203. These last two weeks tho I feel as if I can eat what I want with no problems or even as much as I want as if my band suddenly stopped working. Any ideas? I can't see my dr until next month. :/

its called Banster Hell...................

It gets better....

you should be able to eat what you want as you are not on a diet....but you do need to use portion control and make good food choices. the band will work if you help it along. are you eating more than a cup of food? just because one can eat more (doesnt mean they should).

Really sounds like you need a fill. I have a fill every 4 weeks, the few days before I go back I know I need one. This last fill -4th- I have restriction, I really have to be careful now.

I know it's bandster hell, but you must try and keep your portion sizes to a cup. I count my calories to make sure I don't go over 1200, that may help you. No easy I know, but you have to in order to stay the course. Try upping your Protein a bit and your Fiber - they are two things that normally help you stay full longer.

I am right a long with you in weight loss- I had surgery June 22 at 244 and now I am 207. Getting close to Onderland!!!

sounds like Bandster Hell. How much Fluid do you have in your band? You may need a fill. Are you tracking how much you are eating and how long you feel full after eating? At this point who may just have to survive on shear willpower.

You have done amazing so far, don't let this get you down.

It sounds like you need a fill. Just try to hang in there until you are able to see your doctor.

As the others have said, you probably just need a fill now. You've lost a lot of weight very quickly. As you lose weight, the fat surrounding your stomach (and other internal organs) shrinks, so the band feels looser and you need more fill.

I want to share this saying (which I didn't invent, but it's very true): just because you can eat as much as you want doesn't mean you should. Overeating can cause complications like band slippage

Sounds like you need a fill. Please don't get discouraged. We all have come too far to turn back now. Make good food choices early in the day and that will help set the tone for your day.

had the same problem, only mine was for 6 months...nothing. No restriction no loss. I had 4 fills before I had restriction. Then wholy cow It caught up with a vingance. When you stop feeling restriction you should call your doc. sometimes they will fill as needed. You sound like you've done great so far. Dont slip back into old habits!!

Don't loose focus. As Jean said, just because you can eat more doesn't mean you should. Stick with your 1 cup meals, lots of Protein & drink lots of Water. You can do this! Next month will be here before you know it.

I meant fill :-P

You should stop eating when you are satisfied not full, that way you wont over eat.

Well here Ill soon , be 6 mos out sense my operation on April 24,2012. And still no fills , they said the soon as they could get me a appointment in nov, 30th and then there not even sure ill get a fill then, it depends if I have all my food records , and exercise records of every moment of the day then they will decide wheather I need a fill or not, I'm almost 6 mis out , I wieghted 300lbs to start with , I got down to 250lbs for about a mo. But now I'm gain it back ! I'm a 262 lbs now! I just want to cry, why did I go thur all this,? I wished that I gotten the gastric bypass then I wouldn't have to be begging for fills , and the doc is along ways away , it would be horrible to go all that way then them turn me down for a fill, I thought u c Davis was Supose to be one of the best, but now it seems thaeyhave no time for me, my doc even came into my room and said that his job is done , it's all up to the nurses , I call another doc and explain

was going on and he said I would have to get Uc Davis to release me and I would have to have $2500 dogs for some classes, I told him I've been thur all the classes and test , that I just need a fill, that I'm disabilities on Medicare and medical and I just need a fill, still have to go thru classes, and need $2500. I just want to cry,
