  1. Hi, I can feel your pain about falling off the wagon. I hit 100 pounds lost about 14 months post op. now at 21 months post op I am only about 70 down. I have not been on this board in a loooong time. I had also stopped logging my food and my exercise went way down because of an injury. I'm making today the first day of my new journey. Already logged Breakfast, and came on here to some much needed support. Seems like we are in a similar place. We know what worked the first time around...we just need to get back to that place. I wish I had more advice for you, good luck!
  2. I didn't hit my goal for Protein intake until about week 3 or 4. In the beginning it was hard for me to get enough of anything, protein, fluids etc, but my dr was ok with that. I tried Isopure liquid, sold at GNC, it has huge protein and is "clear" instead of thick like a Protein shake. This helps me a lot!! I tried all the flavors and the only one I didn't like was I think peach or mango. Just keep sipping all day long. You'll get there eventually.
  3. I broke up with my scale because I was letting the number dictate how I felt. My weight really hasn't changed too much in the last few months, but I have gone done almost 4 sizes and feel so much more energized. That's what I'm focusing on, not the number on a scale. I do weigh in once a month, just to keep track.
  4. I've had nasty headaches after my last two fills. The first one I figured wasn't related, but after the second i think they are related. I'm just about at the green zone, so hopefully I won't need another fill. Not sure what causes it, I know I'm getting enough fluid it. I've never gotten one after being stuck.
  5. Congrats on getting approval!!
  6. I've actually only the seen my surgeon twice since the operation. My first post op visit and then again at 6 months. I see the Nurse Practitioner for my fills. You'll probably see the same person. She's great, and really good at fills. I can't remember exactly how many fills I've had. A couple of times I had to have a little taken out. I had a tiny fill (0.2) in March that I thought would be my last, but will be (hopefully) getting another tiny fill tomorrow. They are very conservative with fills, but that has worked for me. most of the time I don't notice the band. It took awhile, in the beginning I was much more aware. Now, it's just there. Good luck tomorrow!
  7. let me know if you have any questions. I'm more than happy to answer. They used to have a lap band specific support group which was great, but not enough people went so they cancelled. I did go the the general support group a couple of time. Check out my blog to see more about my journey.
  8. Hi, I had Dr. Evanson as my Dr. He's in the same practice as Dr. Cacucci. I love everyone there. The center offers so many resources, classes etc. I'll actually be in the office on the 24th in the am for a nutritionist appt and fill. Let me know if you want to meet up in the waiting room.
  9. Congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment!
  10. I have a personal trainer I see once a week. I love it! She pushes me harder than I would ever push myself. I was the same as you, I had cardio, but not the strength, so that what we focus on. I've tried all sorts of things I would never have done on my own. Good luck!
  11. Wow, love the color! You look great.
  12. Amazing transformation!! Great job!
  13. I love your pics! I totally see a big change. Congrats!!
  14. I was weighing in only once a week, but this month I've broken up with my scale. I was getting too focused on the number. My clothes were loose, but the numbers weren't changing and it was driving me crazy! I'm trying to focus on how I feel, and not a number. For now that's what's best for me. You have to choose what's best for you, keeping yourself on track without going overboard. Good luck.
  15. Just smack that inner mean fat girl and put her in her place. Way to go!!!
  16. Congrats! Keep up the great work!
  17. I would love some friends on MFP. I'm colleenjoy1. Thanks!
  18. Plateaus SUCK!! I totally feel your pain. Try to focus on those 58 pounds you've lost, that's amazing. I agree that weights might slow your loss down. It did for me. I've hovered around the same weight for a couple of months now, but I've gone down almost 2 sizes. I've actually broken up with my scale. IT was too depressing. Keep up the great work!
  19. i've got it too. it seemed to be getting better, until this week. UGH. Big ugly boil that appears to be tunneling. I use hot compresses to get them to drain. Not fun, and definitely not pretty. I was hoping it would go away with the weight loss.
  20. checking in this week at 237.2. Didn't make my goal of 235, but that's ok. I'm still down for the month. Slowly but surely I'll get there.
  21. Sounds like the symptoms I have withe reflux as well. It could be as a result of the sinus issues, but is there any way you can get in for a slight unfill? I'm very conservative and have gone in for a couple of unfills quickly, rather than wait to see if I got better/worse. Each time I immediately felt better, and was later able to add back what had been taken out. Since you are going out of town, might be better safe than sorry and have some taken out now. Good Luck!
  22. congrats on getting close to the 100 pounds. I'm right there with you, as of this morning just about 9 pounds until I hit that mark. I was thinking of doing a spa day for myself...massage, mani/pedi, haircut. I can't wait to see your photos, please come back and share with us! I love the idea of zip-lining. I've wanted to try that, but always been too heavy. I think I'm going to save that for a later goal.
  23. So impressed with you! Congrats on completing your first half marathon!!
