Hello From The New Guy

Just had my initial consultation with True Results in Austin, TX. So beings my journey. Want to also thank everyone in advance here since has been my primary source of information with regards to deciding to undergo WLS, and specifically to go with Lap Band.

Based on my roadmap my surger date will be in March 2013... seems so far, but I imagine time will go quickly.

Anyone else here been to the True Results in North Austin? I have BCBS Fed insurance which will cover based on my BMI, but I am not sure what my total out of pocket will be.

Welcome! I was banded through True Results in North Austin. It's a great group. Be sure to come to the support group each month. Next one is Oct 25th at 6:30pm.

I'm in Cedar Park...However, I am not going through True Results. I have my 2nd appointment tomorrow. Tenatively scheduling surgery early November. I am a cash patient so I don't have all the roadblocks that insurance provides. Good luck to you! Would love to follow your progress!!!

Thanks all... seems like it is going to take forever for these five months to pass.

It'll go fast, I promise!! I had a 6 month mandatory wait because of my insurance. It'll fly by.

Welcome to LBT!

I promise you, the time will go by really fast and if you take the next 5 mths researching and following this forum, you will know everything you need to know to succeed.

I've been here everyday for 7mths, surgery Monday, and these wonderful people have taught me a lot. I really don't expect any LB surprises.

Best wishes on your journey!

Hope to see you around!

Welcome!!! I'm from Ft. Worth,TX!! I'm sure it will come quick. I'm self pay and I will be banded Nov. 16th!!!

Welcome and please enjoy this great forum.

Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

I am fed BCBS also. If you have "standard" it is 15%. depending on what your doctor ordered for prep tests and the cost of surgery will make a difference. I paid about $2500 when all said and done. The hospital and surgeon let me make payments. I have only had one fill and it was covered by my surgeon with the first 90 days.

The time will fly by! Are you going thru the mandatory classes? If so, you will learn a lot.

Hang in there!
