I guess that you may be correct in your assessment...there are no "food police" to assist you to make healthy and appropriate food choices 24/7.

The band is highly self empowering...you determine the level of your success with your weight loss journey by the choices you make every day to eat healthy and exercise.

If you are not successful, you have only yourself to hold accountable for the end result.

Get you mind set that "I worked hard to get this surgery, and I am gonna stick with it". There are many things you can blend. At the mushy stage, I was craving flavor, so I ate a lot of spicy stuff. Hang in there. You won't have great restriction yet, but it will get better once you get a fill.

Good Luck!

I was too scared to cheat... I was afraid i wouldnt heal or lose. Not saying you won't lose or heal... Just letting you know what worked for me. That said I didn't veer off the drs recommendations during liquids or mushies. I tracked my calories from the beginning and the results have been fabulous.

I am sure you will find what works for you. Good luck.

I did the refried Beans, and ground chile in the blender..but the gas after surgery was very painful...GasX comes in a disolvable tab, and comes in handy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
