I Figured It Out... It's Elastic's Fault!!

Recommended Posts

My height too hid alot of sins. LOL I am 5'9 so my weight... while I carried low... was pretty even as well. I lost from the top down... Got to love gravity. LOL

I am 5'8 1/2" almost the same height. I just got into 14's and a few 12 skirts. I look better in XL tops, but hope to get into Large. I cleaned out my closet of all my 16W and 2X and 1X tops. Most of these were too small on me when I started my journey. My surgery was June 25, 2012. I've had 2 fills but my wt loss has really slowed down. I loss a pound a few days later I may go up a 1/2 - 1 pound. I guess I need another fill, it's hard to know.

Floridays you got me to look in my closet. I also had elastic everything and now my 14s all have zippers & buttons. Elastic has lost me too. Love it! Congrats to you & thanks for shedding the light for me.

Yea! I think its an elastic revolution!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
