Headed to the hospital now. Will update you all later. Have a good day everyone.

  • Hi Everyone... went back to work yesterday (desk job) after being banded on Friday 10/12. Surgical sites didn't bother me much the first few days but by Monday, the gas began to give me some shoulder

My Preop diet prescribed by my Doctor allows for 4 ounces of solid protein. Chicken fish or turkey. With a cup of steamed veggies. Then three protein drinks during the day. I get hungry but it is manageable My big day is Thursday 25. I have lost ten pounds on Preop

I feel like I now that I have been banded, I am breaking up with my longest, most reliable relationship. My relationship with food. Food has been my constant. It has been a comfort, a stable, but also a crutch. For so long I have depended on food, worrying about what I am having for dinner at 9 a.m. I now don't worry about it as much. My worry comes from making sure that I follow the plan to the letter. We all need to remember that we did not come to need weight loss surgery over night and we are not going to lose the weight over night. Patience is the key and not the instant gratification that got us to this place in the first place. Hang tough everyone. It's a journey and not a race.

Wow! Kudos to those who went home same day or worked so soon after surgery. I was in no shape to work so soon after surgery. In fact, I was banded on Friday and returned to work on Wed and had to go home early because I was so tired!

When I asked about beginning to walk and swim, Doc told me not to do any strenuous exercise for at least four weeks. I can stroll but nothing more. Might be because they repaired a hiatal hernia too?

Congrats on making it this far. You won't want mushies after surgery that's for sure, at least not at first.

It's an interesting road ahead of you, at least for the first few weeks so buckle up and embrace the new noise your stomach makes cuz your gonna hear it for a little while after the initial surgery too.

We have 3 days and a wake up left!!! So excited, scared and worried! The 2 weeks of liquids have been HARD to say the least but every day got easier. Those just starting..hand in there! Day 3 and 4 were the hardest or us but it was easier each day! Just stay busy!! My house is very clean...lol! Another week of liquids post op and then some mushy food. I have lost 12 lbs in the past 10 days and my husband about 15.

My preop is eggs for breakfast and veggies(salad) and 4-6 oz of meat veggies to snack in between if hungry. First few days were hard but now Im not even hungry and have to remind my self to eat LOL. However because of this I'm thinking I can loose this way why do I need the band?..... then I remember all the times I lost 60 then gained 70lbs back......Its going to work out!!!!!

Don't you feel sometimes like you've gained and lost 3 or 4 4th graders over the years? I know I do. We need to remember to not compare ourselves with anyone else. We need to celebrate our successes no matter how small. We are gonna get there 1pound at a time.
