I am about 2 weeks out(Friday) and I am doing great. I have lost almost 25 pounds since the surgery. I have been back to work since Monday and again have been doing great. Although.... I haven't been super religious with my diet. I was following the Clear liquids diet up until this last weekend. I was so weak and woozy when I was on my feet that I didn't know what was wrong. Then I started to eat some blended Soup and what not and started to feel great. Was anyone else able to eat semi normally after only 2 weeks? I am still losing weight and have not over ate. Been eating Maybe 800 cal a day, and watching sodium intake and what not. Been taking my Vitamins and Calcium, but I just have to eat food with substance or I really cant function very well. Again, just seeing if anyone else was in the same boat I am.

Oh and I broke the 300 pound range 2 days ago! It felt amazing! Haven't been under 300 in probably close to 10 years.

Thats great! Keep up the good work. I was banded on the 23rd. I havent weighed in a few days, I was driving myself crazy doing it everyday. Went thru a few days of no weight loss.

I have just started eating more regular soft food. Had a little salmon today. I stopped before I felt full.

Are you diabetic? Maybe thats why you need some real food. Potato Soup is great. Try some salmon though. I bought the frozen ones and broiled it.

Good luck on your journey!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
