Help!! What's Wrong With Me???

Recommended Posts

So all of a sudden I feel this tightening and pain in my upper stomach (middle, under my breasts) and it goes all the way to the back. It got so bad I can't even sit or lay down. I don't know what is wrong, I haven't eaten anything, but the last time I ate (yesterday) I did get stuck pretty bad.

This happened before, on a weekend too. I had to deal with it all weekend until I got in to see Dr on Monday morning they did an unfill, and everything was fine after that. The pain was terrible and I wasn't able to eat anything all weekend long. I have since had a small fill

I just called my clininc, but they are closed till Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I don't want to go through this again. The only good thing about it before was that I lost 9 lbs that weekend, but so not worth it.

HELP!!

Have you had your gall bladder checked out? It sounds like it could be gall bladder related.

The other possibility is reflux, try taking a reflux remedy.

Or you could still have some food stuck and/or your band may have slipped .

Are you able to drink? If you can't drink you need to go to emergency as dehydration is dangerous. You could try sucking crushed ice as if you are swollen it will help to reduce the swelling and that may help to ease the pain .

Thank you.

I'm not sure what it was, but it went away as suddenly as it came on.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
